JD CYMRU NORTH REPORTS – SEPTEMBER 6-7

Prestatyn Town 6-2 Llay Welfare

It all came good for Prestatyn Town as they hit Llay Welfare for six at Bastion Gardens.
This battle of the Cymru North’s bottom two had all the makings of a close contest, but it was not to be.
Town got off to a flyer when Tyler Joyce set up recent returnee Tom Weir to make it 1-0 after just four minutes.
Welly so nearly equalised when Samuel John rounded Prestatyn goalkeeper Robbie Williams to shoot towards goal, but home defender Anthony Jones nodded off the line.
In just the eighth minute outstanding new signing Jacob Barrett released Oliver Buckley to double Prestatyn’s lead via a deflected shot.
Two minutes later, David Hayes’ free kick got a slight deflection into the net for 3-0.
Llay were creating chances too but not taking them, John striking the post.
After 15 minutes, it was four! Debutant away keeper Henry Green kept the ball out initially, but Buckley was following up for his second of the game.
Llay rallied at last, Williams saving well from John before Bisensio Kamilo scored from an acute angle to make it 4-1 at half time.
With three changes introduced at the interval, Welfare came out strongly for the second half, but again opportunities were missed and in the 62nd minute Joyce took advantage of a defensive mix-up to put Town 5-1 up.
Four minutes later Llay substitute Scotty Swords picked up a ball from Chris Hibbert and ran through the defence to score.
The visitors pressed forward with Williams making a double save from Worrall and substitute Jon Collo.
Llay were by no means out of this until the 81st minute, when Ray Knight made it 6-2 with his first goal for the Seasiders.

Buckley Town 2-3 Airbus UK

George Peers scored twice as Airbus made it seven wins from seven league matches this season with a 3-2 victory at Buckley on Saturday.
Peers bagged the opening goal in the 14th minute via a sweet strike into the top corner.
The midfielder’s second goal arrived 10 minutes into the second half as he capitalised on a goalkeeping mistake from James McHarrie to finish into an empty net, before Danny Warren made it 3-0 at the secodn attempt.
A pair of quickfire goals from Connor Littler and James Rutter in the space of five minutes gave Buckley a lifeline in the closing stages, but Airbus held on to earn another three points.

Caersws 0-1 Mold Alexandra

Mold earned their first away win of the season as Damase Kiwanda’s penalty secured 1-0 triumph at Caersws.
The match was tightly contested but Kiwanda made no mistake from the spot in the 59th minute for his sixth goal in two games. The Alex are now up to fourth.

Colwyn Bay 4-0 Penrhyncoch

Bay earned their third consecutive league win and climbed to third with a 4-0 whipping of Penrhyncoch at the Four Crosses Construction Arena.
Jamie Cumming opened the scoring in the 36th minute by heading home Craig Lindfield’s cross, before Lindfield got on the scoresheet himself just short of the hour as he tapped home from close range after Josh Carey’s initial effort hit the crossbar.
Cumming scored his second goal of the afternoon from the penalty spot before substitute Dan Atkins marked his return to the club by finishing from Will McKinley’s cross.

Guilsfield 1-1 Llandudno

Good result for Llandudno at the Community Centre Ground.
The Seasiders were rewarded for their bright start when in-form striker Harvey Bennett calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 37th minute.
However, their lead lasted just three minutes as Iwan Matthews equalised before the break.

Holywell Town 2-1 Bangor 1876

Second-placed Holywell edged a 2-1 triumph at home to fellow high-flyers Bangor 1876.
A composed finish from Jamie Breese gave the Wellmen the lead in the 16th minute before a stunning strike from Danny Sullivan made it two just before the hour.
In-form Mason Blackwell-Jones pulled a goal back for Bangor in the 88th minute, but Town held on for the points.

Flint Mountain 4-4 Denbigh Town

What will surely rank as one of the games of the season saw Denbigh recover from 3-0 down to force a 4-4 draw with Flint Mountain.
Mountain made a lightning start as goals from Rob Hughes and Rowan Whelan put them 2-0 up after just 18 minutes, but Keelan Williams quickly halved the deficit.
The hosts restored their two-goal cushion as Jack Sconce scored five minutes before half-time before he assisted teenager Alfie Clark for Mountain’s fourth goal on 48.
However, Denbigh found a way back into the game once more as Owen Davies found the net with a powerful header in the 52nd minute before he was fouled inside the area three minutes later, which allowed substitute Nathan Brown to calmly convert the penalty.
In the 88th minute Davies was brought down in the box once again, with the forward this time taking the responsibility himself to slot home from 12 yards.

Ruthin Town 4 Gresford Athletic 0

Eighteen-year-old Harry Martin bagged a hat-trick to inspire Ruthin to an emphatic victory on Friday night.
Josh Evans was the provider for all three of Martin’s goals.
The scoring was completed in second half stoppage time by Llyr Morris.
