A charity crown green bowls tournament in honour of a North Wales soldier will be held for a ninth year next week.

Rhos Park bowling club, in Rhos-on-Sea will welcome eight of the best bowlers from around the UK to compete in the Craig Roberts Memorial.

Craig, from Penrhyn Bay, passed away while on SAS training in 2013.

His childhood friend, Dan Jones, has organised the bowls competition in Craig’s honour for the past eight years.

The event attracts around 400 people each year.

All proceeds from the evening will go to Craig’s parents’ chosen charity.

This year that charity is Hope Restored, which provides support, help and advice to homeless and needy people within the local community
