Catrin Roberts with CPDM Bangor manager Aron Griffith

CPD Merched Bangor have signed an exciting new keeper for the 2024-25 season following the departure of experienced stopper Becca Elliott.

Wales Under-16 international Catrin Roberts is a highly-rated gloveswoman who is thrilled at the prospect of playing in tier 2 Adran North this season.

The 16-year-old said: “I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to CPDM Bangor for believing in my potential and offering me this incredible opportunity.

“I am eager to learn, grow and contribute to the team in any way I can. This chance means the world to me, and I am committed to working hard, improving my skills, and representing the club with dedication and passion on and off the field.

Thank you for this amazing opportunity to pursue my passion for football at such a young age.”

CPDM Bangor have never been afraid to give youth its chance, with so many of its young squad having come on in leaps and bounds in tier 2

Team manager Aron Griffith said: “With the departure of our long servant and experienced Becca Elliott, Catrin has decided to join us for the upcoming season.

“Catrin has played junior football with Llangefni, Bangor and Caernarfon U14’s boys who went on to win the league and were runners up in the Welsh Cup. Most recently, Catrin was with the FAW North Wales girls academy U18’s,

“Catrin’s proudest moment is representing her country in Serbia at the UEFA Tournament, in which she earned her Welsh U16’s cap.”

Catrin joins former Amlwch Town skipper and defender Carol Lewis and ex-Trearddur Bay captain Ashleigh Jones as recent signings for CPDM Bangor.
