Bangor captain Rob Marshall moved to within seven of 10,000 North Wales Cricket League Premier Division runs in his team’s superb win at Brymbo on Saturday.

Wales Over-40s international wicket-keeper Marshall edged ever closer to the tremendous milestone by making 19 in the Citizens’ success at the Brymbo Sports and Social Complex Ground.

The Steelmen won the toss and decided to bat, but were bowled out for just 143 by an impressive away attack.

Wales NC all-rounder Owen Reilly led the way with 5-27 off 8.5 overs, while Idrees Ijax picked up 2-41.

Chris Taylor was by far the most impactive home batsman with 64, Sam Aplin next highest on 26.

In reply, the visitors made it to 143-4 in 33.1 overs to seal a 13-2 points verdict.

Nadeem Rehman ended on 34 not out, Franco Kasner added 21, while Reilly finished on 19 no and Marshall also posted 19.

Gresford (2) 105-10 Northop (13) 170-6

Second-place Northop cut table-topping Mochdre’s lead to 17 points with a 65-run victory at Gresford.

In a match reduced to 30 overs per side, the visitors were put in and rattled up 170-6, Peet Pienaar 48, Ben Beaver 44 and Matthew Williams 31 not out.

Toby Bellis gathered 3-30 and Simon Perry 2-18 for the home side, who were then bowled out for 105, Wes Evans 20.

Ashraf Nawab bagged 3-16, Wales NC and Glamorgan seconds spinner Romano Franco 3-22, Bart Ryan-Beswick 2-19 and Andy Poynton 2-20 for the winning team.
