Oliver Gough scored a joint career-best 75 as Chirk picked up 15 points from a winning draw at Forton.
Put into bat, the visitors chalked up a formidable 224-8 off 44 overs, opener and wicket-keeper Gough well supported by knocks from Andrew Swarbrick (41) and Nick Flack (34).
Fellow opener Wynn Jones (24) put on 42 with Gough, who was involved in a stand of 92 for the third wicket alongside Flack.
In reply, Forton clung on at 162-9 for the draw, Luke Gardner the stand out bowler for the North Walians with 6-34 off 14, claiming the first six wickets to fall, while Liam Walker landed 2-39.
Leaders Chirk seconds returned to winning ways in a low-scoring affair at Holyhead Road.
Seven-player visitors Corvedale were put in and bowled out for 82 in 23 overs, Harry Lunt 2-11, George Collins 2-18 and Nigel Davies 2-19.
Chirk’s ride to victory was not especially a comfortable one, but they made it to 83-6 in 20 overs, Collins 23, David Golightly 4-17 for the visitors.
