Let’s all celebrate the 2023-24 Genero Adran North Team of the Season!
Five players from champions Llandudno, three from Connah’s Quay Nomads, two from CPDM Y Felinheli and one Llanfair United stalwart are included in the 2023-24 Adran North Team of the Season.
GOALKEEPER
Megan Robinson (Llandudno)
Played in 12 of Llandudno’s 14 Genero Adran North matches and conceded just 15 goals for the champions.
Made a memorable penalty save in the 4-0 Adran Premier promotion play-off final defeat at the hands of Briton Ferry Llansawel.
Great first season at Llandudno following previous spells with Connah’s Quay Nomads and CPD Y Rhyl 1879.
DEFENDERS
Shona Roberts (Llandudno)
Underrated star for the Adran North champions gets well-deserved success.
The 23-year-old was an ever-present in the league and featured in 23 games for Llandudno in all competitions, scoring five goals.
Awesome defender who regularly joins in attacks.
Mary Bailey (Llanfair United)
Long-serving captain of Llanfair is a very consistent central defender with a penchant for scoring crucial goals.
She netted five times in 13 league games during 2023-24, including singles in draws against Rhyl 1879 and Bangor.
Evie Chard (Connah’s Quay Nomads)
Good first season at the back for Nomads, making 12 Adran North appearances.
Scored in Quay’s 5-0 NEWFA Challenge Cup final win over Airbus – from the halfway line!
Pacy defender who fitted into the team’s style of play from day one.
Aimee Redfern (Connah’s Quay Nomads)
Formerly Aimee Hopkinson, this consistent defender gave 100% in every training session and each match she was involved in.
A regular in a Nomads shirt in 2023-24, she played in all but one league game and produced some outstanding performances.
MIDFIELDERS
Polly Wild Mc-Gregor (Connah’s Quay Nomads)
One of the stars of the season in Genero Adran North, this 18-year-old played in all 14 league games and netted nine goals to put herself among the top-scorers.
Also turned out regularly for the under-19s in their championship-winning campaign.
Erin Doran (Llandudno)
Midfield powerhouse who just gets better and better in a Llandudno shirt.
Eighteen-year-old who played in all 14 league games as her team romped to the title. Erin made 23 appearances in all during 2023-24, scoring three goals and providing 17 assists, including 10 in league matches.
Catrin Evans (CPDM Y Felinheli)
What a wonderful comeback season for Catrin after a spell in the English pyramid.
Scored 16 goals in 23 appearances in all competitions, including eight in the league and a hat-trick in the NWCFA Challenge Cup final, which Felinheli won 4-0,
Still only 21, her ability to glide past players, score goals and delivery deadly set-pieces makes her a standout.
Maddie Williams (Llandudno)
Another unsung hero for the champions who has won two titles in three seasons since she joined Llandudno in 2021-22.
In 2023-24, Maddie notched 12 league goals in 14 games and laid on 10 assists.
Her career stats for Tudno show 62 goals in 67 matches.
STRIKERS
Stevie Donougher (Llandudno)
Netted a fantastic 31 goals in 18 appearances for a club she joined from CPDM Bangor at the start of the season.
The Australian ace was top-scorer in Genero Adran North with 16 goals, two of her most vital coming in a title-swinging 2-0 away victory at Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Since joining North Wales football has netted 58 goals in 35 games.
Recovering steadily from a bad injury suffered towards the end of the season.
Ffion Williams (CPDM Y Felinheli)
Appearances were limited for Y Felinheli in 2023-24 due to injuries and work, but she still dazzled with nine goals in just four league matches.
Produced the individual performance of the season by scoring all four for Felinheli in a stunning 4-0 victory at Connah’s Quay Nomads in January – the Deesiders’ first league defeat of the season.
Has scored more than 100 goals over seven seasons at Felinheli.
