Flint Mountain are crowned Tier 3 Ardal North West champions with a 6-1 victory at Llannefydd to seal promotion to the Cymru North

So, a club treble in the bag and still a chance of a triple for the first team who are in the Ardal Northern Cup semi-finals.

As for Wednesday evening at Llannefydd, talk about doing it in style!

Mountain made the perfect start when Rowan Brooks’ glancing header from a Rob Hughes corner gave the visitors a seventh-minute lead.

After 13 minutes it was 2-0. Calyn Spencer did well on the right, found Mike Hayes and his flick doubled the lead.

Llannefydd responded on 26 minutes when a free kick from the left was converted into a goal by captain Elgan Roberts.

However, in the 37th minute Andy Brown made the most of a great ball from Jack Sconce to make it 3-1 to Mountain at the break.

The unstoppable Rob Hughes made it 4-1 on 66 minutes with his 11th goal in 12 matches. A Brown throw in led to a scramble which ended with Hughes netting at the back post.

Corey Smart then turned provider, finding Hayes, who fired into the corner for his second of the night after 75.

And it was Hayes again with his 31st goal in all competitions this season and 23rd in the league who rounded off the scoring.

The former Welsh Premier striker once more benefited from the good work of Smart to complete a memorable hat-trick.

Champions and deservedly so – Flint Mountain FC!
