LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST – LATEST TABLE

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 2 St Asaph City 2

Rhyl 1879 will not give up the leadership of Ardal North West without a fight.

Today, the Lilywhites battled back from two-down to draw with St Asaph at Belle Vue, keeping themselves a point clear at the summit.

However, in the cold light of day, it was two points dropped by Gareth Thomas’ side, while second and third place respectively, Flint Mountain and Llay Welfare, both won again to squeeze the gap even tighter.

Saints have had a great comeback season in tier 3 and looked a good bet for a famous win at BV after first-half goals from Jake Walker and James Williams, on 26 and 30 minutes respectively, Liam Grayson and Danny Clarke with the assists, gave the visitors a 2-0 interval lead.

In their final home game of 2023-24, though, Rhyl refused to throw in the towel and Leigh Craven set up Callum Parry to make it 2-1 on 65 minutes.

Parry struck again in the first minute of added time to seal a draw and make it 21 league goals for the season, keeping him top of the current ANW chart.

A second win in their last three starts boosted Felinheli’s chances of staying up as they edged four points clear of bottom side Saltney and moved to within a point of Hawarden Rangers, who are third from the basement.

Two Gavin Lloyd Jones goals in the first 15 minutes gave Euron Davies’ men a great start against Pwllheli at Cae Seilo.

Carl Jones pulled one back for the visitors on the hour, but Iwan Owen’s 82nd minute third for the hosts clinched the victory.

Bethesda Athletic 3 Brickfield Rangers 2

A third victory in four matches nudged Bethesda five points clear of the bottom three.

Flint Mountain 4 Llangefni Town 2

Title-chasers Mountain edged to within a point of leaders Rhyl 1879 with four games in hand after seeing off Llangefni at the Essity.

A point for Aden Shannon’s side at Conwy Borough on Wednesday night would put them top of the table.

Jack Smith opened the scoring for Cefni on Saturday after 11 minutes, but a Joe Holt double on 45+3 and 50 turned things in Flint’s favour.

Matty Jones made it 2-2 on 56, but Mountain had plenty in reserve, Andy Brown bagging a home third after 59 before Rob Hughes nabbed a crucial fourth with 74 gone.

Llay Welfare 6 Hawarden Rangers 0

Llanrwst hit back late on through Conor Davies, but the visitors took the spoils.

Nantlle Vale 3 Conwy Borough 3

This occurred today at Maes Dulyn, where the honoours were shared.

Adam Hold, Toby Jones (pen) and Sean McCaffery had Conwy 3-1 in front just past the hour, but goals from Jamie Jones and Ashley Owen rescued a point for Vale, who had earlier equalised at 1-1 through Cai Parry.
