CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876 treble-winning captain Tomos Clarke has announced he is leaving the club.

Clarke, who will be 30 in August, has been with the Citizens since the start of 2021-22, making 149 appearances in all competitions and netting 36 goals.

A commanding centre half, Clarke was a youth player at Oldham Athletic before going on to play for Colwyn Bay, Glantraeth, Porthmadog, Holyhead Hotspur and Conwy Borough prior to joining Bangor.

In his time with 1876, he has won the North Wales Coast West Premier Cup in 2021-22, promotion to the Cymru North via an Ardal North play-off victory in 2022-23 and, this season, the Ardal North West title, FAW Amateur Trophy and Ardal North League Cup treble.

Clarke said on social media today: “After 5 unbelievable seasons I’ve decided now is the right time to leave my club.

“One of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make, but I feel it’s the right time for me to leave this incredible club that has given me so many memories and the opportunity to play for my local club.

“To the fans, staff, management and players all I can say is thank you for everything. The support and love over the years has been incredible and I’ve had the privilege of leading this incredible team.

“Will be looking forward to coming and supporting the lads and hoping they push on.”

Clarke is also a former Wales Under-15 and U17 international.
