Ardal NW: previews-match reports – huge game as Llay and Rhyl face off at The Ring
There’s a big weekend coming up in the Tier 3 Ardal North West title race.
Battle of the day will undoubtedly be at The Ring where third-place Llay Welfare entertain top team CPD Y Rhyl 1879.
If they are to lift the title, the Lilywhites must keep winning and hope the likes of Flint Mountain and Llay slip up in games in hand on their respective run-ins.
Rhyl rediscovered winning ways against Felinheli last time out, but now comes a major test against a Llay outfit unbeaten in nine having taken 23 points from a possible last 27.
Big players will need to put in massive performances on the day.
Second-place Flint Mountain will by no means find it easy against a solid Brickfield side having a good season, so all to play for on Saturday.

It was a good day for the Hugheses as Bethesda picked up three vital points in their survival bid.
Kian Hughes, Tomos Hughes and Daniel Hughes all found the mark against Saltney, who replied through a Callum Webber double.
Llannefydd 4-2 Conwy Borough
Tom Jones delivered a double for Llannefydd, with Llion Morris and Tomos Roberts also on target in a home win.
Conwy, who led 2-1 at one stage in the second half, hit back through Toby Jones and Dan Evans.
Llay Welfare 6-0 Pwllheli
Six of the best from Llay, who stretched their unbeaten league record to nine matches – sveen of them wins.
A Gethin Williams own goal set the Welly on their way, Scott Swords, Rhys Lloyd, Ethan Simpson, Jared Taylor and Tomos Williams with the rest of the home haul.
Nantlle Vale 1-0 Llanrwst United
Jamie Jones scored the only goal of the game on 73 minutes to secure a narrow win for Nantlle over visitors Llanrwst.
With the score at 0-0, Conor Davies, who recently returned to the Roosters, missed a penalty.
Y Felinheli 0-1 Brickfield Rangers
Andy Vale’s 16th goal in all competitions this season after 26 minutes was sufficient for the Wrexham travellers to take the spoils at Cae Seilo.

Jack Hanley, Ben Wilson (penalty), James Samuels and 18-year-old substitute Vinnie Cooke were on the mark for victorious Llangollen, with Thomas Edwards (2, 1 pen) responding for Penycae.
Llanuwchllyn 4-0 Welshpool Town
Nine league wins on the bounce for Llanuwchllyn, top-scorer Meilir Hughes and Ilan hughes bagging two apiece.
Rhos Aelwyd 0-0 Penrhyncoch
Good result for Rhos Aelwyd, who rallied from back-to-back defeats by holding the runaway leaders at Ponciau Park.
Llanfair United 2-2 Llansantffraid
Seven days after an 11-2 humiliation at Llanuwchllyn, Llanfair picked up a much better result at Latham Park last Friday.
Kyle Capner gave the hosts a sixth-minute lead, but Thomas Bailey levelled in first half added time.
Flynn Morris had a penalty saved by Saints keeper David Jones early in the second half, then on 67 minutes Liam Pickstock edged the visitors in front.
Morris made up for his penalty miss by equalising in the 77th minute and 2-2 is how it stayed.
Llansantffraid had Khyam Wyton sent off for a second yellow six minutes into stoppage time.
