Tegan’s wonder goal rounds off a perfect league campaign for champions Flint Town United

In 1976 Brenda was selected for the Wales squad and was one of the first women to gain the official FAW coaching qualifications.

Northop Hall 1 (Ellen Sharps)

Raise your hats for The Invincibles – Flint Town United!
Thursday night saw Elliott Hale’s heroes rounded off their league campaign by completing a perfect set of 12 straight victories.
Most of the time they have won comfortably; on other occasions they had to battle hard to beat the likes of Kinmel Bay, Berriew and Northop Hall – but they always found a way to win.
Flint will now chase a treble with the North Wales Women’s League play-off final against West champions Pwllheli and the Betty Pickering Cup in their sights.
Whatever happens for the rest of this term, nothing can detract from the fact this team which only formed last season has made remarkable progress in the past 12 months.
In their debut 2022-23 campaign, Flint’s record was: Played 22 Won 6 Drawn 1 Lost 15 Goals For 36 Goals Against 82 Position: 9th.
Last season was a learning curve. This season, with many of the same squad and a few quality additions, Flint have been a team transformed.
Thursday’s goals:
19th minute: Rosie Hughes initially took the ball away from goal, turned and let fly with her right foot from the edge of the box, the shot blazing into the net over the keeper.
35th minute: Zoe Stopford finishes from close range after great set-up work from Tegan Crockett
48th minute: Hard-working Northop Hall get back in it when Ellen Sharps scores to make it 2-1
58th minute: Zoe Stopford scores her 23rd goal in all competitions this season. Jennifer Haynes slots a lovely ball through the defence into the path of Stopford, who finishes into the bottom-right corner.
88th minute: What an amazing way to finish off the league campaign! Tegan Crockett scores with a wonderful volley from a Rosie Hughes corner for her 17th goal in 16 games. Icing on a delicious cake!
