Revenge was sweet as a Llandudno side which lost 2-0 at home to Nomads in November beat their title rivals by the same score at Deeside Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The win puts Tudno six points clear at the Genero Adran North summit, having played one more game than second-place Quay.

Nomads had lost their 100 percent record a fortnight ago after getting thrashed 4-0 at home by CPDM Y Felinheli and they were to gain no points against Llandudno either.

Star of the show for Tudno was Australian attacker Stevie Donougher, who scored both away goals, one near the end of each half.

The game ebbed and flowed throughout the 90 minutes with both teams having control for small periods.

Nomads captain Kylie Jones marshalled her team and was the standout performer for the hosts, dictating play and monitoring approach work to the visiting forwards.

Player of the match, Llandudno skipper Sofie Owen

Before taking the lead, Llandudno were unlucky on a couple of occasions, the ball clipping Donougher’s heel when through on goal in one attack.

Following a little pressure and good direct play, Donougher did get the opener two minutes before the break, Stacey Tradewell with the assist.

In the second half, Nomads had better positional play in the middle third, but just couldn’t find the opportunity to get the ball through or over the defence as Ffion Owen screened well.

The back four were excellent when under pressure, with player of the match, captain Sofie Owen, outstanding.

Quay had to dictate the pace and continually tried knocking on the door. Luckily, Llandudno’s Kelsey Davies has pace aplenty and with a simple direct ball caused problems up top which in turn created more room for Donougher.

Davies set up Donougher for her second of the game and 28th goal of the season two minutes from the end of normal time.

This left Nomads with a mountain to climb and little time left.

Unfortunately a bad injury occurred to home striker Shannon Hobbs which caused a hold-up in play and meant quite a lot of added time. Everyone wishes Shannon well.

Tudno held on for the 2-0 success, but it takes two quality sides to make a rivalry like the one which exists between these two heavyweights and both gave it their all today.
