North Wales Coast East League – Y Glannau hit back in style, Llanfairfechan edge a cracker

Llandudno Amateurs 2 (D Williams oen 4, J Jones 75)
Y Glannau bounced back in style from the previous weekend’s 5-2 home loss to Glan Conwy when they beat Division One leaders Amateurs by the same score at Glan Clwyd.
It was only a second league defeat of the season for the visitors, whereas for the hosts it was their best performance of 2023-24 so far.
In a lively start, Joe Jones found the net for Llandudno on two minutes, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on Michael Bellis.
It was a let-off, Y Glannau needed to wake up and they did.
In the fourth minute, Ash Bamber got the ball out to the left, Harrison Bellis cut into the box and curled home superbly.
Less than two minutes later, Llandudno were awarded a penalty as Kyle Hedge was adjudged to have impeded Joe Jones. Up stepped Dave Williams to make it 1-1.
The response from the hosts was brilliant, the press throughout the whole team pure class.
Y Glannau deservedly restored their lead after 30 minutes. Jordan Davies-Jones fed out wide to Osian Williams, who started a run from just inside his own half.
Williams then drove to the edge of the box and hit a screamer which was tipped onto the bar, but the inside of it. The goal was given, but just in case, Harrison Bellis was there to tap in.
Llandudno should have levelled it, but a mix up in the box between Azz Rogers and Matt Chapman resulted in an open goal being missed.
In the 41st minute, Glannau went 3-1 up following a lovely move down the right.
Aaron Dodwell ran at the Amateurs defence, found Joey Fontana, who then flicked onto Harrison Bellis, whose great delivery forced Gaz Sharp to put through his own net as Josh MacGillivray was applying pressure at the back post.
Half-time: 3-1
The second half started with both teams cancelling each other out. Glannau had more of the ball but couldn’t create any big chances. Dodwell hit a firm half-volley which fizzed just past the post.
In the 75th minute, Llandudno pulled one back after a free kick was played into the box and Joe Jones’ header looped into the net.
Glannau could have at this point got very nervous as they had never previously beaten these opponents, but the hosts kept going and were rewarded on 80 after MacGillivray delivered a great ball which was headed out back to him, then he nodded back across goal for Harrison Bellis to make it 4-2 with his 34th goal of the season.
The home side finished off with the move of the match involving a lot of players. Eventually, Carl Murray found Harrison Bellis, who then put the ball straight across the goal for Luke Stanley to smash home.
Rhos United 5 Penrhyn Bay 2
Seven days earlier, Rhos had scored five goals but had to settle for a draw.
On Saturday, they made no mistake, romping to a 5-2 victory.
Bret Durkan, Scott Court (2, 1 pen), Billy Bibby and Phemmy Allison shared the home goals, Ben Kelbrick with a pair for Penrhyn.
Betws-y-Coed 3 Rhyl All Stars 2
Jack Gibbon was a hat-trick star as Betws won their first match in two years.
In their first game under new manager Paul Maxwell, rhe former Rhyl Dragons boss who has brought some of his ex-players with him to the Conwy Valley, Betws delivered the goods.
Owen Hughes and Shane Roberts (penalty) replied for the All-Stars.

Two Tomos Tryfan Jones penalties booked maximum points for Cerrig.
Kinmel Bay 3 Llanfairfechan Town 4
Elliot Croston delivered a winning goal for Llanfairfechan seven minutes into added time at Y Morfa.
Connor Morris gave Kinmel a 32nd minute lead, but Elliot Croston made it 1-1 before the break.
Osian Roberts put Town ahead on 49, Morris levelled on 66, Harry Croston edged Llanfair 3-2 up after 74, but Ashley Wood equalised on 77.
The stage was set for Elliot Croston to deliver a last-gasp decider.
Llandudno Junction 4 Abergele 1
Comfortable win for Junction with Nathan Williams, Dave Maddock (2) and Dean Seager sharing the home net-finderS.
Connah Atkinson brought Abergele level at one stage, but the Railwaymen would not be denied.
Llandyrnog United 2 CPD Llansannan 3
It is now no wins in five and nine defeats in their last 11 matches for Llandyrnog.
Llansannan edged it at Cae Nant thanks to goals from Luke Appleby. Tomos Roberts and a 90th minute clincher from Leon Gierke.
Matthew Richards netted twice on debut for the home side.
