Congratulations to Hawarden Rangers – winners of a league game for the first time this season at the 12th attempt.
Rangers overcame visitors Llanrwst 3-1 at the Gladstone Playing Fields on Saturday.
If anyone who follows this Tier 3 league had been told before the match that a C Parry would score a hat-trick, the vast majority would probably have expected Llanrwst’s prolific marksman Callum Parry to be the man.
However, the hero of the day was Hawarden’s treble king Connor Parry, who also represents the Hawarden reserve and under-19 development sides.
Parry netted on 15, 34 and 54 minutes for the hosts to make himself the toast of Hawarden on Saturday evening.
Callum Parry also found the net, converting a penalty for Llanrwst to make it 1-1 in the 20th minute.
Honours even at Cae Bob Parry between the fourth and third placed teams respectively in Ardal North West.
Jack Williams gave Cefni a 32nd minute lead which they held till the interval, but two in two minutes on 66 and 68 from captain Daniel Williams and Jake Walker nudged Saints ahead.
Llangefni top-scorer Matty Jones made it 2-2 after 73 minutes and that it how it stayed.
After five league games without a win, Felinheli got it right at Cae Seilo, a 4-1 success enabling them to leapfrog opponents Saltney and climb out of the bottom three.
Guto Huws edged the hosts in front after just four minutes before George Davies levelled on the half-hour.
All-square at the break, but midway through the second half, a Gruff John penalty put Felin back ahead.
John added his second on 80, then sub Iwan Owen made the points safe with a fourth home goal after 84.
Jamie Jones clinched three points for Nantlle Vale with a magnificent 92nd minute free kick which sent the visiting supporters wild.
With Llangefni Town and St Asaph drawing, the result at The Rec put the men from Maes Dulyn second, eight points behind leaders Rhyl 1879 with a game in hand.
After a goalless first half, Ashley Ainsworth’s 11th goal in as many games for Pwllheli gave his team a 51st minute lead.
A 10th goal of the campaign from captain Ashley Owen on 66 minutes made it one-apiece and the match was then in the balance before Jamie Jones’ seventh goal of 2023-24 won it for the Penygroes side. And what a goal it was!
Troed chwith! Chwip o gôl!
Liam Hall’s 61st minute net-finder settled this in Llandrindod’s favour.
Dolgellau needed a 96th minute equaliser from Ioan Rhys Roberts to prevent Penycae making it four league wins on the bounce.
Zac Davies’ strike handed Pen a half-time lead, but four minutes into the second period, Gerwyn Williams’ 23rd goal of the season – and 17th in the league – made it one-each.
Thomas Edwards restored the home advantage on 52, Ben Fisher equalised after 65 only for Davies to nudge Pen 3-2 up on 75.
Penycae were almost there until sub Roberts grabbed that late leveller.
Aelwyd made it back-to-back 3-1 home wins, Tom Smith and Ian Hughes (2) with the first-half goals that sank Llangollen.
Haydn Grindley notched a consolation on the hour for the visitors.
Back to winning ways after three games without a victory for a relieved Llansantffraid.
Liam Pickstock and Jack Harris put the visitors two-up inside half an hour, but they could not get past the bottom side’s defence again and Ethan Kinsey gave Welshpool hope with a 50th minute reply.
