FAW Trophy round-up: Hotspur smash in seven while Llanuwchllyn also progress

FAW AMATEUR TROPHY ROUND 5
Holyhead Hotspur 7 CK Swiss Valley 1
Seven-goal Hotspur stormed into the last 16 of the FAW Trophy with an emphatic victory over long-distance visitors CKSV.
The Tier 4 West Wales Premier Division underdogs kept it at 0-0 until the 41st minute when a great cross from the right via Kane Roberts was blasted home at the back post by Shay Murphy.
In added time at the end of the first half, Dylan Summers-Jones released a fine pass through to Kane Roberts, who showed great feet before skilfully chipping advancing keeper Liam Davey to score the second.
Six minutes into the second half it was 3-0, the impressive Aron Hughes-Jones cutting in from the left and firing into the top corner.
It was Hughes-Jones again five minutes later as he lashed home from a Summers-Jones cross.
Summers-Jones made it five with 63 on the clock, Deian Parry providing the assist.
Hotspur brought up the half-dozen on 70, Alex Jones’ header enabling Cory Williams to nod smartly over the keeper and find the net.
And the home scoring was completed when Williams volleyed in his second from an accurate Roberts cross.
Hotspur had skipper Alex Jones red-carded before CKSV did gain some reward from their lengthy journey when Harry Long scored a late consolation.
Brickfield Rangers 1 Llanuwchllyn 3
This battle ot Tier 3 sides went to way of Ardal North East outfit Llanuwchllyn.
Meilir Williams scored the only goal of the first half when he edged the visitors in front from a Michael Pritchard assist right on the interval.
Seven minutes into the second half, Pritchard made it 2-0, but there was hope for Brickfield when Andy Vale converted a penalty on 62.
The tie was in the balance until Garmon Hafal notched a third for Llan in the 84th minute.
Llanfairpwll 0 Trethomas Bluebirds 7
After battling their way through four previous rounds – beating three higher league teams along the way – Llanfairpwll’s heroic Trophy adventure came to an end against the holders Trethomas.
Bluebirds are also top of their Tier 3 league and proved a bridge too far for their fifth-tier North Wales Coast West League Division One hosts.
The final score was somewhat to be expected given the wide gap between the teams, but Llanfair can feel proud of their tremendous run which saw them exit as the joint-lowest ranked side remaining in the national competition.
Ethan Edwards (2), Liam Fawcett (2), Levi Rees (2) and Adam Raymond shared the away goals.
Llay Welfare 0 Cefn Cribwr 1
A single goal separated the teams in a tie which finished with Llay having just nine players on the field.
After a goalless first half, Matthew Symons broke the deadlock in the 50th minute.
Llay had Adam Williams red-carded three minutes into added time and Kian Turton followed him on 94,
