Five-goal Airbus are level on points with Holywell Town and Flint Town United after an impressive win at Holyhead Road on Saturday.

Both goalkeepers – Chirk’s Ollie Farebrother and Keighan Jones of Airbus – both produced great stops before the visitors took a 25th minute lead through a deflected Nick Grogan effort.

It remained 1-0 up to half time and the Wingmakers had to wait until the 59th minute before striking again, Dan Collins’ putting Ollie Lanceley through to calmly shoot past Farebrother.

A double substitution saw Bradley Knight and Sam Baker come on for the away side.

Knight was a handful for the Chirk defence and soon earned his side a free kick on the edge of the box.

Craig Lindfield stepped up and fired a brilliant effort past Farebrother to give Airbus a 3-0 lead.

Lindfield doubled his tally with 15 minutes to go, via a header from an excellent Jordan Evans cross.

In added time Airbus scored their fifth. Baker found himself in space down the left and a shot from the edge of the box across Farebrother found the bottom corner.

Flint Town United 9 Llanidloes Town 4

Elliott Reeves and Josh Jones both notched hat-tricks for Flint in a 13-goal spectacular at the Essity.

The hosts were caught cold on six minutes, when veteran hitman Jamie Breese smartly fired past Rhys Williams to put the visitors ahead.

The equaliser arrived on 16 minutes, Luis Lacey crossing into the box with the ball falling to Rhys Kavanagh, who scored with the outside of his foot from 16 yards.

Reeves cut in from the left on 33 minutes and curled a sublime shot into the top corner from 20 yards to make it 2-1 to the Silkmen.

Lacey delivered an inch-perfect cross from the left on 40 minutes, and Jones was on hand to head home.

On 45 minutes, Lacey’s low curling ball into the area was dummied perfectly by Jake Phillips and found the corner of the net.

Llanidloes hit back from the restart with the game moving into added time, Breese slotting past Williams to reduce the arrears.

Half-time: 4-2

Five minutes into the second half, it was 5-2. Jones rounded off a great passing move with an acute angle finish.

A couple of minutes later, Jones turned provider with a through ball into Reeves, who calmly rounded keeper Luke Evans before thumping home.

To their credit, Llanidloes kept plugging away, and Connor Bird pulled one back for them on 68 minutes.

Four minutes later, Flint went up the other end to make it 7-3. Harley Peagram raced down the right and delivered to Jones, who in turn played it onto Reeves and he swept the ball home to complete his hat-trick.
Bird then got his second for the visitors on 75 minutes.

With 10 minutes remaining, Peagram and Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro combined to set up Jones for his personal treble.

From the last move of the game, Kavanagh, who had started Flint’s scoring spree, aptly finished it off.

Morgan Owen gave Port the lead on six before Sam Phillips levelled after 14.
