Who are the Grassroots North Wales Clwb y Mis – Club of the Month for October 2023?

Mountain celebrate a goal in a cracking 4-1 win at Rhyl 1879 in August

With a 100 percent record in October, including a stunning Welsh Cup triumph against a genuine northern super power, Flint Mountain are worthy recipients of the Grassroots North Wales Clwb y Mis/Club of the Month award.

Aden Shannon’s side began with a 3-1 success at home to Llannefydd in the Ardal Northern Cup.

Their only league game of the month produced a 2-1 away victory at Bethesda Athletic, but on Friday, October 13, Mountain achieved their finest result yet, a 3-1 beating of Tier 2 Cymru North leaders Holywell Town in the Welsh Cup.

In a third knockout win during October, Mountain progressed in the FAW Amateur Trophy on the 28th, whipping Rhyl All Stars from two levels below 9-1.

Flint Mountain are currently seventh in Ardal North West, but have plenty of time to work themselves into title contention.

Their reserve side are flourishing, sitting top of the tree in the FAW Cymru Reserves North Tier 3.

Neil Gibson’s side also turned over a very useful Caernarfon side 4-1 in the Welsh Cup this month.

Nomads’ second string are also in awesome form, topping the FAW Cymru Reserve North Tier 1 and 2 standings, their October results including a 7-0 pasting of The New Saints.
