NWCFA MABON SCAFFOLDING JUNIOR CUP ROUND TWO REPORTS
Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 1 Rhos United 1
(Blaenau won 3-0 on penalties)
Blaenau’s superiority from the penalty spot earned them a place in the NWCFA Junior Cup quarter-finals.
It looked like North Wales Coast East Division One visitors Rhos might be going through after Bret Durkan gave them a 73rd minute lead.
However, Sion Roberts levelled on 85 minutes, and with no further score in extra time, a shoot-out was required to decide the winner.
Quarrymen keeper Bradley Roberts saved two kicks and Rhos missed a third, while successful pens from Joe Dukes-Morgan, Aled Ellis and Tomos Williams saw the hosts prevail.
Bontnewydd 5 CPD Mountain Rangers 1
Luke Phillips was a hat-trick star for a Bontnewydd side which comfortably advanced to the last eight.
Phillips netted on two, 25 and 37 minutes, the latter from the penalty spot, while Ianto Ap Rhun added a double, Dylan Owen with an injury-time consolation for Rangers.

Gaerwen kept battling and Moore notched his second on 81 before Callum Thomas made it all-square on 85, necessitating extra time.
Moore proved to be the hero, scoring on 102 and 105 minutes to send the Auctioneers into the last eight.
