Fourth-place Caernarfon cut the gap on Newtown in third to two points after Tuesday night’s win over Aberystwyth at The Oval.
A crowd of 474 saw Richard Davies’ side wipe out the memory of heavy back-to-back losses to Newtown and Connah’s Quay Nomads with three second-half goals against the bottom side.
The first half featured few chances, but Adam Davies was not far away for the hosts with a left-foot effort after receiving a pass on the right-side of the box from Iwan Cartwright.
Darren Thomas picked out Zack Clarke with a neat ball from the right, but after steadying himself the striker fired just wide from 15 yards.
A slick move down the right-hand side again created an opening for the Canaries, Ben Wynne firing low and hard, but straight at keeper Dave Jones.
Aber threatened late in the half when Luca Hogan’s slide-rule pass found Stef Davies, who advanced on goal, but Lewis Webb got down well to smother his close-range effort.
After the break, Caernarfon looked more dangerous and a good move from the back saw Marc Williams pick out Thomas, whose smart pass found Sion Bradley and his fierce strike was well saved by Jones.
The home side’s opening goal in the 59th minute had a touch of fortune about it.
Thomas lofted a high ball into the area and referee Nick Pratt blew instantly when Clarke went down under a challenge.
There did not look like much in it, but the official pointed to the spot and Clarke broke the deadlock from 12 yards.
It was the breakthrough the yellow and greens needed, and on 66 minutes it was 2-0 when a Bradley corner was flicked on and Davies was in the right place to put away his eighth goal of 2023-24.
The third goal was a beautifully-worked masterpiece.
Dion Donohue played a long pass from the back into Davies, who slipped the ball to Clarke. He juggled the ball Brazilian-style before lofting it to Williams, who drilled across the six-yard box and there was Louis Lloyd to apply the finish at the back stick.

Ollie Lanceley, who recently returned from a long-term injury, began the scoring in the 23rd minute when he finished well from a Joe Palmer assist.
Lanceley turned provider in the 34th minute when James Davies made it 2-0 to the visitors.
George Peers replaced Lanceley at half time and made the most of his chance after the interval.
Davies set up Peers to make it 3-0 on 57 minutes. Then on the hour Peers struck again, Ryan Edwards this time involved in the build-up.
To complete a miserable night for the Seasiders, Kurtis Pearson was dismissed for a second yellow card two minutes into overtime.
