What a fantastic double for Caernarfon Town!
Canaries boss Richard Davies has been named Cymru Premier Manager of the Month for July/August, while Town’s dynamic attacking midfielder Sion Bradley is league Player of the Month.
After being appointed as Caernarfon’s permanent boss in the summer, Davies oversaw an impressive start to the season where the Cofis sat second in the table at the end of August.
They went through the month unbeaten, winning 4-0 against Colwyn Bay on the opening weekend before beating Newtown for the first time in nine attempts and drawing with Haverfordwest and Bala Town.
Following the departure of Huw Griffiths from The Oval on March 18, 2023, Davies was asked to lead Caernarfon for the remaining five games of the 2022-23 campaign.
Town were not safe from relegation at that stage, but seven points from a possible 15 under Davies’ leadership secured the Canaries top-flight football for a sixth successive season.
Davies joined the club seven years ago as assistant to Iwan Williams and continued in the role under both Sean Eardley and Huw Griffiths.
Before switching to Caernarfon, Davies was a successful manager of CPD Penrhyndeudraeth at tier 3 and 4 level.
Sion Bradley has been an outstandingly consistent performer in Caernarfon’s fine start to the 2023-24 campaign.
The majority of the Cofis’ attacking moves go through the Cymru C international, who is a driving force in midfield.
Before signing for Caernarfon in summer 2018, the 25-year-old had spells with Bala Town, Bangor City, Penrhyndeudraeth, Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs and Porthmadog.
