NORTH EAST WALES VETERANS LEAGUE – REPORTS SEPTEMBER 16 AND 17

Premier Division

Brickfield Rangers Vets 4 Connah’s Quay Nomads Vets 6

A goal feast at Clywedog Park saw the Nomads come out on top.

Steven Blair (2), Lee Cousins, Sam Doole, Julian Astbury and James Olte shared the away team tally, Kirk Ratcliffe, Christopher Bullock (2) and Nicholas Davies replying for the Bricky, who trailed 3-0 and 6-1, but kept fighting till the end.

Hawarden Rangers Vets 3 Rhydymwyn Vets 2

Alan Dawson (2) and former Welsh Premier and York City striker Jamie Reed shared the goals which booked victory for Hawarden Rangers Vets.

Goals from Mark Williams and Jon Kenworthy kept Rhydymwyn in the contest.

A great result for Hawarden Vets after two seasons unbeaten and double double winners. They did well to overcome a great and in-form Rhydymwyn side who finished second last year in the league.
