Matt Reynolds was a six-goal star – a hat-trick in each half – as Trearddur Bay’s Development team launched their campaign with a big win.
A very tough pre-season schedule for the Trearddur players obviously reaped the benefits.
The visitors produced some outstanding football during a first half that saw them have a good 80% of the ball. They showed some real composure and built up attacks from the back on a regular basis.
It was 5-0 at half time, Reynolds getting a first half treble with Bryn Roberts and Noel Owen making up the tally.
The second half was more of the same, the Beach Boys keeping the ball for long periods and really working the Gaerwen defence.
Reynolds added three more, Luke Jones netted once and Sion Thomas plundered a hat-trick off the bench.
Dave Webb provided four assists and Reynolds produced three.
Jonathan Cyster’s 76th minute penalty was sufficient to collect the points for Llanberis over a Pentraeth outfit which performed very well.
Kevin Lloyd put Llanrug on their way to victory with two goals inside the first 22 minutes.
Morgan Jones put Bontnewydd back in the contest with a 34th minute strike which made it 2-1 at the interval.
After the break goals from Tomos Owen, Robin Thomas and James Bell made the points safe for the hosts.
A match which featured three red cards ended in success for Prestatyn hosts Bow.
Dean Hughes, Ethan Evans and Kev Gorry notched the goals that mattered for the hosts, a John Atherton OG after five minutes having initially put Llysfaen ahead.
Hughes and Atherton were red-carded for Bow, while Jack Williams received his marching orders for the away side. All dismissals came in the 50th minute.
Substitute George Meredith knocked in a 94th minute decider for Kinmel Bay.
Jacob Jones handed the visitors a 37th minute lead, Cian Adams levelled early in the second half, but Bay had the last word.
Darren Hughes, Billy Sieben and Grady Walding pocketed the goals which secured maximum points for Phoenix.
William Smedley and Dylan Cunnah supplied the responses which were not enough to save NFA from defeat.
Andrew Morris, Chris Rogers, Rhys Thomas Clark and Ged Burke all scored one apiece in Y Glannau’s triumph over the Wanderers.
Substitute Ashley Garrett bagged a late reply for the visitors.
