Amlwch celebrated their first point of the season after Cian Jones’ superb strike eight minutes from time secured a 3-3 draw at Lon Bach.
The home side took an early lead after four minutes when Shane Jones’ tame effort from outside the area trickled past Tigers ‘keeper Dion Lewis.
Tigers equalised in the ninth minute. Jamie Ryan Jones found Callum Davidson with a long delivery, the forward took the ball past onrushing goalkeeper Callum Truchuon and lifted it into an empty net.
Menai Bridge went in front in the 26th minute when a Sion Hogan corner fell for Lewis Clayton to smash home from 12 yards.
Both sides were reduced to 10 after an unsavoury incident following a bad challenge by Chris Byast on Harry Jones near the corner flag, with both players given their marching orders for the scuffle that ensued.
Amlwch equalised just before half-time, Jordan Edney bundling the ball in from close range.
Tigers manager Aaron Rowlands made a tactical change at the break, and it paid dividends on 55 minutes when substitute Darren Gowans found Davidson with a pinpoint long pass. Davidson then fed Craig Roberts in the area and he had time to compose himself and find the top corner.
Menai Bridge had several opportunities to put the game to bed, but were made to rue their missed chances when Cian Jones’ fine effort found the top corner in the 82nd minute.
Keenan Latham’s 95th minute goal decided a close fought local derby in Glantraeth’s favour.
Dylan Williams missed a 14th minute penalty for the visitors, but soon after Gethin Davies put Glan ahead.
It remained 1-0 until the 65th minute when Ifan Owen brought Berffro level from a Gavin Roberts assist.
Ywain McGuire-Jones then made it 2-1 Aberffraw in the 73rd, Tomos Hughes laying on the goal, but four minutes later Steven Jones levelled the match.
It looked to be finishing all-square until Latham’s late clincher.
Four-goal hero Kaine Bentley helped Gwalchmai gain the away win which put them top of the Premier on goal difference.
Summer signing Bentley, who impressed for Ynys Môn in the recent Island Games, certainly showed his new managers what he is capable of at Eithin Duon.
Matthew Roberts put Llanrug ahead on 14 minutes, Bentley levelled on 32, but Carl Griffiths made it 2-1 for the hosts before Liam Dhillon hit back for Gwalch to ensure it was all-square come half time.
Into the second half, Bentley made it 3-2 for Craig Evans’ men after 56 before completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot on 73.
Jamie McDaid responded with a pen for Llanrug after 84, but another Bentley success from the spot on 87 sealed victory for the leaders.
