NORTH WALES COAST WEST: Aberffraw still in command, Vale and Tigers share six-goal corker

Aberffraw handily lead the way in Division One

NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE

Premier Division

Nantlle Vale 3 Menai Bridge Tigers 3

Sion Hogan’s 89th minute equaliser rescued a point for the Tigers in Saturday’s clash of the North Wales Coast West Premier’s top two sides.

Both teams had lost only one game apiece this term and that is how it stayed after the weekend six-goal stormer at Maes Dulyn.

James Bell put Vale in front after nine minutes, but soon after Jamie McDaid levelled with his 18th goal of the campaign, Matthew Jones providing the assist.

In what was a frantic start to the game, Nantlle edged ahead again with just 12 gone, Owain Ellis with the finish and Aaron Griffiths the chance supplier.

When captain Ashley Owen made it 3-1 four minutes into the second half with his 10th goal of the season, it looked like the Penygroes men were on course for the win.

But the Tigers refused to back down and pulled one back in the 78th minute via Gerwyn Roberts, Hogan assisting.

Then, a minute from the end of the 90, Hogan delivered the levelling goal, sub Craig Roberts teeing him up.

Division One

CPD Aberffraw 5 Amlwch Town 1

Undefeated leaders Aberffraw moved four points clear with a 5-1 thrashing of Amlwch at Cae Cynlas.

Berffro made it eight wins and a draw in nine matches with another strong display of finishing at the expense of fellow Anglesey opposition.

Yet at half time, the match looked well-balanced at 1-1.

Dylan Williams handed the hosts a 24th minute lead from an Arwel Williams assist, but close to the break Dan Jones equalised from the penalty spot.

The second half saw the home team take command, Dylan Williams on target after 55 before Andy Clarke’s 12th goal in 10 natches made it 3-1 in the 61st minute, Dylan Williams the supplier.

Connor Gordon bagged Berffro’s fourth on 72 minutes, Will Edwards this time setting up the opportunity.

Dan Jones missed Amlwch’s second penalty of the day before Arwel Williams rounded off the scoring on 84, the assist this time coming courtesy of Tom Carter.
