Considering the key players they have lost this summer, a young Bangor side put up a fantastic performance to knock an experienced Pwllheli line-up out of the Challenge Cup.
Amy Mano broke the deadlock on 27 minutes and Ffion Bee clinched a home victory with a second goal after 85.
Winning coach Aron Griffith said after the game:“Amazing feeling getting back into competitive football and no better way than starting a fresh season with a tough cup match.
“Hats off to everyone on that pitch today who gave everything. The passion shown alongside the football was remarkable.
“Also we’re starting off where we finished last season with a win and hopefully it’s a sign of what’s to come.
“CPD Pwllheli FC are always a brilliant side and strong on the ball and I would like to thank them today for a very competitive match and wish them the best of luck in the new season.”
Last season’s North Wales League champions Bangor have been promoted to the tier 2 Adran North this term and begin their campaign with a derby at home to CPD Y Rhyl 1879 on September 3.
