Ten more North Wales football transfers

Antonio Jacovelli (Prestatyn Sports to NFA)

Gifted ball player who stood out for the now sadly folded Prestatyn Sports senior team over the past couple of seasons, scoring 16 goals in 2022-23 and 12 the campaign before.
He netted twice against his new club NFA in a 3-1 Welsh Cup victory for Sports in July 2021.
Now becomes part of a group of exciting new arrivals for tier 4 newcomers NFA this summer, joining Tom Kemp, Paul Brady and James Stead at the Rhyl-based club.
Antonio, 29, is a speedy attacking player, great at going past opponents and finding the net.
Onix Bucknor (to CPD Llangoed)

Whatever this guy achieves in a Llangoed shirt he is already a sure contender for North Wales football’s name of the year!
Onix Bucknor has all the makings of an ideal moniker for a private detective or secret agent, or even an astronaut.
Onix is Llangoed’s first signing of the season. He will join up with the club in September, having cemented his place as first-choice centre-half for Bangor University Men’s Football.
Said a Llangoed spokesman: “We have no doubt he will hit the ground running.”
Joe Sullivan (Ruthin Town to Bangor 1876)

Sullivan, a 24-year-old midfielder, joins Cymru North newcomers 1876 from fellow tier 2 side Ruthin Town.
Last season, he made 37 appearances for the Town and scored three goals.
Bangor 1876 manager Michael Johnston said: “Sully is a player I have played with before and I was always impressed by him. He is very mature for such a young lad, will give you 100% in everything he does and his work rate is immense.
“He has really impressed over the last few seasons and I’m excited to see what he does with us. He has personally told me that he is really looking forward to playing in front of our fans.”
Anthonio Zoezee (Conwy Borough to CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

Talented right-winger who should prove a great asset to tier 3 side Rhyl.
First made his mark at Abergele, where he won the North Wales Coast East Division One title in 2021-22, netting 13 goals in all competitions.
The following season he moved to Rhydymwyn, who unfortunately folded temporarily soon after, so Ant returned to Abergele before switching to Conwy Borough in January 2023, where he made 10 first-team appearances.
This attacking player, who hails from Sweden, now takes on a new challenge at Belle Vue.
Lilywhites manager Gareth Thomas said: “Ant is a strong powerful pacey forward who joins us from Conwy Borough. He has impressed in training and is another who will increase competition within the front line.”
Dan Cox (Ruthin Town to Bangor 1876)

Another quality addition for 1876 from fellow Cymru North outfit Ruthin.
Defender Cox made 74 tier two league appearances for the Vale of Clwyd club in the last three seasons.
Although he has often featured as a right back, Cox has played in several different positions and this versatility is something that 1876 manager Michael Johnston underlined when providing his reaction to the signing.
He said: “Dan will be a great addition for us and he is an established player at tier two. He is extremely comfortable at both full back positions as well as at central midfield. He has been on our radar for some time and will doubtlessly add to the quality we already have.”
Damian Ketley (Holywell Town to CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

Experienced, hard-working centre forward whose previous clubs include Colwyn Bay, Holyhead Hotspur, Prestatyn Town, Flint Town United, Llandudno and Holywell Town.
Ketley, 31, had two spells at Colwyn Bay, the first of which saw him excel as a prolific scorer for the double-winning Reserves under Chris Thompson in the 2014/15 season.
The striker played in the Welsh Premier for Prestatyn Town in 2017-18. Spent last season at Holywell, where first-team appearances were limited.
Craig Whelan (Conwy Borough to Bangor 1876)

A goal-scoring midfielder who should fit nicely into the Bangor 1876 set-up.
He lands at Nantporth alongside his former captain at Conwy Borough, Iolo Hughes.
Whelan, a 28-year-old midfielder, played regularly for Boro last season and scored 10 goals for them in the league and a further two in the Welsh Cup. He also came through the youth set up at Bangor City.
1876 manager Michael Johnston said: “Craig is an excellent addition. He had a great goalscoring record last year and hopefully that will continue this year.”
Macca Lewis (Rhyl Dragons to Rhuddlan Town)

Striker whose former clubs include Kinmel Bay Reserves, Rhyl All Stars, Kinmel Bay, Bow and Rhyl Dragons, as well as Rhuddlan Town, whom he rejoins.
Best known for his goals in the Rhyl and District Sunday League, where he was a star performer with Six Bells in 2021-22.
He led the Golden Boot table for much of the campaign and ended on 21 goals, finishing only behind top-class strikers Jamie Haggas (27) and Benn Lundstram (28).
Rhuddlan Town’s management commented: “Macca is a player who has caught our eye with his performances in Sunday league, scoring goals for fun. We can definitely help Macca take his game to the next level.
“You don’t score goals like he has if you don’t have something about you. This is definitely a player to look out for next season.”
Cavan Daley (Rhostyllen to Llay Welfare)

Exciting new signing from Rhostyllen is expected to add something new to the Llay Welfare midfield this season.
The 24-year-old has also played for Gresford Athletic.
Llay Welfare’s management said the following about their new man.
Steven Halliwell: “Cavan possesses an ability to travel with the ball with his head up and is very dangerous in the opposition half, a goal scoring midfielder and also can create for others.
“He’s an excellent player and has already made a big impression on the dressing room.”
Michael Gadie: “Long have I admired Cavan, he’s already good mates with a few of our players which makes the transition from Rhostyllen Football Club smooth. He played against us twice last year and I thought he was head and shoulders the best player we played against last season.
“He adds yet another dimension to this midfield and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.”
Harry Keeley (Hawarden Rangers to Saltney Town)

A classy, energetic player that is a great addition to the Saltney squad.
The former Airbus Academy, Mold Alexandra and Hawarden Rangers defender is the Bordermen’s first signing of the summer.
Harry joined tier 3 Hawarden in February 2023 and made nine first team league appearances for the club.
Prior to that, he was with Mold, where he mainly featured for the reserves.
