BRYMBO (12) 251-9 MENAI BRIDGE (3) 140-3

Opener James Claybrook hit a crucial 91 as Brymbo retained top spot with a 36-run victory over the champions.

Menai Bridge faced a revised target of 177 following rain interruptions, but ended up short on 140-3, meaning the Steelmen claimed a 12-3 points verdict.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the hosts set a formidable 251-9 off 50 overs, Claybrook and Christopher Taylor (47) putting on 106 for the first wicket.

Top bowler for the Bridge was Dion Holden with 4-36 and Gerallt Roberts claimed 2-40.

Holden completed a fine match with 71 not out as the Anglesey side’s response ended on 140-3 off 31.3 in his weather-interrupted affair.

GRESFORD (2) 188-10 NORTHOP (13) 164-4

Richard Walker’s 94 not out made sure Northop reached their rain-reduced target to seal a six-wicket success.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Gresford were all out for 188, Sam Thompson 69 and Gareth Bell 58 no, while Bart Ryan-Beswick took 3-35 and Marlon Barclay 2-15.

In reply, Northop got to 164-4 in 29.4, Walker’s match-winning knock well supported by Jordan Evans’ 42.

HALKYN (2) 132-7 ST ASAPH (13) 271-7

The day after his batting played a major part in Cricket Wales’ victory over the MCC, St Asaph skipper William Ryan followed up with a century at Pant Newydd.

Saints posted a mammoth 271-7 off 50 and it was a Ryan brothers super show, William scoring 104, Mathew 45 and Danny 31, Alex North 2-40 for the hosts.

Chasing a revised target of 203 due to rain, Halkyn could only manage 132-7, Nathan Roett 46 no, Dan Evans 2-17 and Rohit Kaimal 2-26 for the visitors, who won by 70 runs and sit joint top with Brymbo.

LLANDUDNO (1) 152-10 BANGOR (14) 237-10

Number eight bat Nathan Berry led the scoring with 51 not out as Bangor recorded a match-winning total at The Oval.

After calling the coin correctly and deciding to bat, the Citizens chalked up 237 all out in 49.4 overs, Franco Kasner making 30 and there were a few useful contributions in the 20s.

Casey Bedford snared 4-53 and Jack Rimmington 3-39 for the home side, who were then dismissed for 152.

Alexander Corver (46) and Sam Rimmington (33) produced the best home efforts, Ryan Symonds-Mayes 4-31, Kasner 2-22 and Michael Hughes 2-38 for the visitors.

MOCHDRE (14) 215-2 PONTBLYDDYN (1) 212-10

Openers Brad Kielow (70) and Joe Chaplin (60) were in great form as Mochdre stormed to an eight-wicket victory at Swan Road.

Pontblyddyn won the toss and batted, registering a total of 212 all out, Chris Myles chief contributor with 49, while Aled Roberts hit 33.

Aidan Kelly claimed 3-37, Matty Humphreys 2-26 and Chaplin 2-29 for the hosts.

Mochdre replied with 215-2 off 38 overs, Alex Davies adding 46 not out to the earlier half-tons from Kielow and Chaplin, the home side taking the points 14-1.

MOLD (3) 117-6 DENBIGH (12) 211-10

Archie Sussex and Sam Lewis scored 45 apiece to help Denbigh set a game-winning total at Chester Road.

The visitors, put into bat, were all out for 211, Isaac Allen scooping 3-40 for the home side.

With a revised target of 156 from 32 overs because of rain, Mold finished on 117-6, Allen top-scoring with 35, Thomas North 30 no, Ifan Jones bagging 3-32 for the visitors.
