Pakistani debutant Usama Mir scored a stunning 124 to guide Colwyn Bay to a memorable first league win of the season at the expense of champions Wallasey.
Bay won the toss and put the Wirral side into bat, the visitors setting 192-5 declared off 61 overs, skipper Greg Beaver 53 not out.
Leg-spinner Mir, who only arrived in North Wales on Saturday morning, has been recruited mainly for his bowling skills, but he produced a modest return of 1-50 off 24 overs.
Jack Parry was more successful, picking up 3-34 from 17.
In reply, the hosts were 58-2 before Mir really let loose, his 124 coming off just 63 balls and including 10 fours and 10 sixes.
He shared in a third-wicket stand of 125 with Sion Morris.
Bay ended on 193-4 off just 32.3 overs to seal a 20-4 points verdict.
Carwyn Johnson produced a captain’s innings of 61 not out as his Northop Hall team came within a wicket of victory at home to Southport Trinity.
Hall chose to bat after the correct call of the coin and posted 169-7 declared off 55 overs.
After losing five wickets cheaply, Gareth Fox (32) and Michael Williamson (23) helped steady the ship.
Johnson and Will Edwards (31 not out) then came together and put on a profitable partnership for the eighth wicket which remained unbroken.
Trinity were hanging on in the end at 125-9, off 44, Ankur Malik 5-49 and Liam Evans Ford 2-21.
A first defeat of the season for Prestatyn who dropped a place to second after a run of four straight wins to start the campaign came to an end.
Electing to bat, the Welsh visitors recorded a total of 175-9 declared off 55 overs, opener Gareth Leonard 65 and Leo Teal 33.
Sutton got home on 176-7 off 43.3, Joe Smith a crucial 65, Shafiqullah Kamal scooping 4-63 and Sampath Perera 2-57 for the visitors.
Ross Hudson hit a match-winning 75 not out as Colwyn Bay seconds registered a three-wicket win at Wallasey.
The hosts were bowled out for 145 after deciding to take first knock, Jamie Moorhouse 3-22, James Jones 3-23 and Matt Russell 2-18 for the visitors.
Michael Arden claimed a fine 5-26, Matteo Evans-Ford 3-30 and Ben Arden 2-52 as Hall seconds dismissed Trinity seconds for 177 in 43.3 overs.
Hall’s response was a disaster as they crashed to 64 all out in 21.5, only opener Evans-Ford making any impact at all with 34.
Match awarded to Prestatyn – Fleetwood failed to raise a team.
