NORTH WALES WOMEN’S FOOTBALL LEAGUE REPORTS – APRIL 23, 2023

Caernarfon Town 2 Trearddur Bay 2

Caernarfon followed up their first points of the season a week ago by securing a well-earned draw against Anglesey’s Trearddur Bay.

Alaw Parry put the Canaries ahead on two minutes before Ashleigh Jones equalised after 12.

Lisa Jones made it 2-1 to the Cofis in the 17th minute with her 10th goal of the season.

There were no further goals until the 74th minute, when captain Ashleigh Jones levelled for Trearddur Bay with her 11th of the campaign.

Denbigh Town 0 Llangefni Town 4

Jen Cox notched her fifth hat-trick of the season for a third-placed Llangefni team now undefeated in seven league outings.

Cefni keeper Jess Marshall produced a great early save which could have meant a different outcome had Denbigh scored.

As it was, Hannah Owen set up Cox for the opening goal on 25 minutes. Cox struck again five minutes before the break.

The visitors bagged goal number three in the 75th minute, Marissa George setting up Hannah Owen for her fourth goal of the season.

Cox completed the scoring in the 87th minute – a magnificent 24th goal of the campaign.

Flint Town United 1 Amlwch Town 6

Amlwch were in a goal-scoring mood in the early kick-off game at the Essity Stadium.

Tesni Hughes set the ball rolling with a 17th minute opener, Ellie Sian Jones benefited from a Cerys Gadd assist to make it 2-0 and Jones then laid on number three for Joanna Bramwell before the interval.

The first 10 minutes of the second half saw Tesni Hughes complete her hat-trick and make it 16 goals for the season.

Sinead Beck hit back for Flint on 58 minutes, Rosie Hughes with the assist, but soon after Bramwell set up Ellie Jones for her second of the game and 11th of the season.

NFA 9 Llanystumdwy 0

Nine goals from NFA who remain a good bet to finish second.

Rebekah Hansen made it 1-0 on six minutes before top-scorer Sade Benjamin added a pair and Ruby McGilloway and Megan Pursell struck to give the hosts a five-goal half time lead.

Emily Jones bagged a second half double, while Ashleigh Mills and a Caitlin Hadaway penalty completed the scoring.

CPD Pwllheli 5 Northop Hall 0

Lois Thomas scored twice in the first half – one a penalty – for Pwllheli to boost her season’s total to 17.

Stacey Sansome also netted in the opening 45, then in the second half Sioned Jones added a double to complete a comfortable win for the hosts.
