Who is North Wales senior football’s top male goalscorer at present?

We are into the closing weeks of the 2022-23 season and there is a new leader in the North Wales senior football goals table.
Since we published our last list on March 11, Asa Thomas became the first player to reach 50 goals in all competitions for the campaign and has now raced onto 57, having netted 14 times in his last five games.
In fact, quite a lot has happened for Asa in the past month.
The Holyhead based-striker, who was 32 on Tuesday, recently broke the late Tommy Welsh’s all-time North Wales coast goals record of 631. Asa’s latest total is 639.
Keeping tabs on everyone can be quite a task, so if you know of anyone who should be in this list please let us know and we’ll amend accordingly – dave@nwsport.co.uk
🔔 30 goals in all competitions (well 29 this time) qualify for a mention 🔔
Asa Thomas (Trearddur Bay) 57 GOALS
League: 41 Cups: 16 Appearances: 28
Now averaging just above 2 goals per game, Asa has North Wales’ highest league tally of 41 goals.
Alongside regular scorers such as Mel McGinness and Kaine Bentley, terrific Thomas is helping guide Trearddur Bay to the North Wales Coast West Division One title.
Corrig McGonigle (Bangor 1876) 51 GOALS
League: 34 Cups: 17 Appearances: 31

After a relatively lean spell by his own very high standards, Corrig has scored in his last two games, including the vital late winner against CPD Y Rhyl 1879 which put him on 50 for the season.
The Anglesey-based hitman is 1876’s all-time top marksman with 85 goals in just 45 appearances. He is also the highest scorer in the tier 3 Ardal Northern divisions.
Harrison Bellis (CPD Y Glannau) 50 GOALS
League: 33 Cups: 17 Appearances: 25

A magnificent season for the 21-year-old has seen him reach 50 goals in 25 games over all competitions – an average of exactly 2 per match.
Harrison is also the leading scorer in North Wales Coast East Division One.
Conner Kendrick (Ruabon Rovers) 48 GOALS
League: 33 Cups: 15 Appearances: 25
This man is on fire, having banged in nine goals in his last three games, including a double hat-trick versus Holywell United.
Looks well set to become the fourth North Wales player to reach 50 this season.
Andrew Swarbrick (Ruabon Rovers) 41 GOALS
League: 15 Cups: 26 Appearances: 24
Swarbrick’s strike partnership with Kendrick is the most prolific in North Wales by a mile – 89 goals in all competitions between them.
Eight in his last three outings has taken Swarbs over the 40-mark.
Sam Giles (Acton) 38 GOALS
League: 35 Cups: 3 Appearances: 20
Has not scored in the three games since our last list was published, but he remains one of the deadliest marksmen at tier 5 level.
Only Asa Thomas has scored more league goals.
Kallum Pierce (Aston Park Rangers/Hawarden Rangers) 37 GOALS
League: 33 Cups: 4 Appearances: 22
Since we last updated you on the North Wales goal kings, Kallum has hit EIGHT in a single game for Aston Park in a 15-1 victory over Bellevue.
Aaron Rogers (Llandudno Amateurs) 34 GOALS
League: 27 Cups: 7 Appearances: 27
As Amateurs chase trophies in the closing weeks of the campaign, Rogers continues to be their most prolific net-finder.
Joe Jones (Llandudno Amateurs) 31 GOALS
League: 22 Cups: 9 Appearances: 27
His partnership with Rogers has delivered a magnificent 65 goals this term.
David Forbes (Holywell Town) 31 GOALS
League: 19 Cups: 12 Appearances: 41
How fantastic is it to see a Cymru North striker in this list!
This tier 2 wonder is on 31 goals across all competitions for the Wellmen and heading into the final set of fixtures is top league scorer on 19.
Connor Owen (Gwalchmai) 29 GOALS
League: 19 Cups: 10 Appearances: 24
We were going to close off the list on 30 goals, but thought this is unfair to Connor, who has 29 and has only played in the one match since our last article.
Connor turned 18 this month, so to have netted almost 30 times in tier 4 is a magnificent effort. Here’s to the magic 30 being reached soon.
