Rearranged Flint Town United v Caernarfon Town match will be played behind closed doors

The Essity Stadium at Flint

The JD Cymru Premier fixture between Flint Town United and Caernarfon Town has been rearranged for Wednesday 19 April (KO 19:30).

The original match, on Saturday 8 April, was abandoned in the 16th minute following crowd trouble. Flint were 2-0 ahead at the time.

The rearranged fixture will take place behind-closed-doors at the Essity Stadium, starting from 0-0 and the clock reset to zero.

North Wales Police announced on Tuesday that three people had been arrested in connection with last Saturday’s disorder. The three have since been bailed pending further investigation.

Superintendent Nick Evans added an extensive investigation has now been launched in order to identify those involved in the disorder at the stadium to ensure all who contributed to the violence are prosecuted.

He said: “Such scenes will not be tolerated and in addition to prosecutions, we will be seeking football banning orders to prevent those involved attending any future football matches.

“We are also working with the Football Association of Wales to ensure such an incident is not repeated.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident and has information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101, or via the website http://www.northwales.police.uk using reference A050936
