It’s time for another progress check on the Dynamic Dozen players we chose as ones to watch for the 2022-23 season.

We’ve given the rundown on the women – now it’s the turn of the males.

Connor Owen (Gwalchmai)

With 28 goals in 21 games at tier 4, this 17-year-old red-hot prospect is having a truly amazing season.

Connor has found the net in 17 of his 21 matches so far and bagged three hat-tricks in a row in games against Mynydd Llandegai, Amlwch Town and Penrhyndeudraeth.

Jack Hoult (Abergele)

Since rejoining Abergele in October, this talented attacking player has amassed 14 goals in 11 games across all competitions.

The former Rhyl and Prestatyn Town skill machine has been a key figure as Gele have kept command of the tier 5 North Wales Coast East Division One table.

Rhys Edwards (Chirk AAA)

Arrived at Holyhead Road last August on loan from The New Saints and has proved a fine performer for the Colliers.

The 18-year-old has notched 16 club goals, 12 for the first team and four in the reserves and development sides.

Has netted in his last three matches for a Chirk side making good strides in its battle to avoid relegation from the Cymru North.

Kaine Bentley (Trearddur Bay)

Dazzling young talent, aged 19, who has scored six goals for North Wales Coast West Division One leaders Trearddur Bay since signing from Holyhead Town last August.

Quite a few of his 16 appearances for Nick Dumbarton’s side have been as a substitute, but he is the sort of player who can always make an impact and his best years are ahead of him.

Has been chosen for the Ynys Môn squad to compete at the Island Games in Guernsey.

Bret Durkan (Rhos United)

After four years out with a serious injury, it is just great to see Bret back playing this season – anything else he achieves is a bonus.

And his comeback campaign is going well, the 30-year-old having pocketed five goals in 16 appearances for a Rhos side flying high and competing superbly well in North Wales Coast East Division One.

Tom Bibby (Holywell Town)

A major driving force in the midfield for a Holywell side currently on a remarkable 19-game winning run in the tier 2 Cymru North.

With 33 appearances under his belt already this season, Tom probably rates as one of the busiest players in North Wales.

Joined the Wellmen on loan from Connah’s Quay Nomads last season and the deal became permanent at the start of 2022-23.

Kian Owen (Bangor 1876)

One of the steadiest performers this term for a Bangor 1876 side he signed for from Conwy Borough at the start of 2022/23.

Young left-back with good pace and a great delivery who has made 24 appearances for 1876.

Was unfortunately sent off for a second yellow in added time last weekend as Bangor lost their undefeated league record for the season at home to Llangefni, but that should not detract from what a fine campaign he is having.

Liam Davies (FC Queen’s Park)

Liam Davies (back row, furthest player left in red) is a key player for Queen’s Park

With 13 goals in 18 appearances, Davies has been an important operator in the Queen’s Park attack since the start of the season.

His goals have been particularly important in cup competitions, where the Park are once more in contention for silverware as the campaign gathers momentum.

Benn Lundstram (Bethesda Athletic)

Landed at Bethesda last August and scored on his debut in a 4-0 triumph at Mynydd Llandegai, going on to net six times in his opening three appearances.

Outstanding 21-year-old front man who has chalked up 11 goals in 14 games for a Pesda outfit leading the North Wales Coast West Premier Division.

Kane Roberts (Mynydd Llandegai)

Scorer of six goals in 14 league games for a Mynydd team currently sitting ninth in the tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier Division.

Highly-rated and consistent performer for a Llandegai side which has lost just one of its last six encounters.

Guto Hughes (CPD Y Felinheli)

Almost ever-present for Y Felinheli this season having featured in 23 league and cup matches for the Ardal North West team.

Just the two clean sheets so far, both in great team displays – a 4-0 Welsh Cup victory over Aberffraw and a particularly memorable 1-0 success at Llay Welfare, seven days after losing 7-0 to the same side.

At the age of just 20, Guto remains a fine prospect with many good years ahead of him. He produces fantastic saves on a regular basis and is often praised by the opposition.

Kieran Ellis (CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

Has missed quite a few games through injury, but this imposing front man has still managed a commendable 12 goals in 17 appearances for the Lilywhites.

One of the very best around at tier 3 level, Kieran’s overall record for 1879 is magnificent – 41 goals in 41 matches across all competitions since he joined in November 2021.

Can play a huge part in 1879’s title run-in. Rhyl presently lead the Ardal North West standings.
