Llandudno Albion 1 CPD Y Rhyl 1879 5
Report (with thanks): Shôn Hughes
The returning Kieran Ellis notched his first hat-trick of the season for a Rhyl 1879 side which finished the weekend top of the Ardal North East table.
Ellis, who hit 29 goals last season for the Lilywhites’ tier 4 title-winning invincibles, has struggled with injury for much of this term, but Saturday’s treble at Belle Vue boosted his tally to a more than respectable 12.
The game was switched to Rhyl due to the ongoing pitch issue Albion face at their home ground Maesdu Park.
The first real chance fell to Tom Kemp after four minutes. He saw his free kick bend over the wall only to be pushed beyond the bar by Albion goalkeeper Ashley Lavender.
From the resulting corner, Ellis headed just wide and soon captain Reece Fairhurst went close.
Jack Higgins would break the deadlock with 20 minutes played, a fine finish from close range after Kemp put in a delightful ball.
With half an hour on the clock the entire ground was left speechless as Rhyl forward Ellis scored a magnificent goal from around 40 yards.
Shellshocked Albion rallied, forcing Luke Wilmot to pull off two stunning saves.
Ellis would get his second and 1879’s third just before the break via a Jack Davies delivery.
Following the interval Albion would be more progressive in their approach, young Lee Stokes making his presence in midfield felt.
Stokes was involved when the visitors opened their account, starting the move that saw Joe Carey lift the ball over Wilmot for 3-1.
However, this was Ellis’ day as he would secure his hat-trick, capitalising on a great bit of skill by Macauley Taylor to finish with aplomb.
Ellis then earned a penalty which Higgins would convert to complete the job.
CPD Y Felinheli 2 Llangefni Town 2

All-square at Cae Seilo in a game which saw Felinheli finish with 10 men.
Tomos Davies gave the hosts a ninth-minute lead, Iwan Sawicz levelled for Cefni on 31, but after 54 Gruff John converted a penalty for Euron Davies’ side.
Felin then suffered a major blow when John was dismissed for a second yellow card on 67 minutes.
And Matty Jones’ equaliser after 73 ensured it ended a point apiece.
Flint Mountain 5 Llay Welfare 2
Former Crewe Alexandra and Chester playmaker Gary Roberts was a two-goal star for the ever-impressive Mountain.
The ex-England international from U16 to U19 level, who joined Aden Shannon’s side this season, found the net after 27 and 74 minutes.
Jon Collo handed Llay a 15th minute lead before Roberts levelled, then Frankie Antoine edged the hosts in front on 44.
Roberts made it 3-1, but Lewis Bickerton-Cole gave Welfare hope by reducing the arrears after 79.
However, Sam Molyneux and Corey Smart struck late to clinch it.
Llanrwst United 3 Brickfield Rangers 3
The Rwsters recovered from 3-1 down to earn a draw at Gwydir Park.
A Kian Thomas own goal, a Callum Parry penalty and Gruff ap Gwyndaf strike made up the home tally, Jay Richardson, Andy Vale and Kian Davies on the mark for Bricky.
Rhostyllen 1 Hawarden Rangers 3
Rangers claimed their “first” win (although they had beaten disbanded Bodedern twice) to climb off the bottom.
Paul Lindfield, Ryan Tierney and sub Kallum Pierce 10 minutes into added time produced the away goals, Kevin Roberts on target for Rhostyllen, who had William Roberts dismissed on 86 for a second yellow.
