North Wales Coast East Premier – Junction make it nine unbeaten, leaders St Asaph return to winning ways

NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE REPORTS – JANUARY 28
Premier Division

Llandudno Junction 4 Kinmel Bay 1

Junction maintained their push towards top spot by making it nine league matches unbeaten – 23 points out of a possible last 27 – at the expense of a very useful Kinmel Bay.
Railwaymen boss Colin Birtles, who is assisted by Ian Roberts, could not be more happy about his team’s current form.
“The credit as far as I’m concerned goes to lads who have stuck by the club in tough times and who are now benefiting from a great team togetherness,” said Birtles.

“They have real belief in themselves and are on a fantastic run of results due to this.”
Mathew Jones put third-place Junction ahead with a 21st minute strike and it stayed 1-0 up to half time.
Jack Nettleton doubled the lead on 69 minutes and when Tomos Rhys-Williams made it three after 80, the points were in the bag.
Ethan Evans pulled one back for Bay, but a Robert Gore goal ensured Junction had the last word at The Flyover.
CPD Bro Cernyw 0 St Asaph City 5
Saints returned to winning ways and lead the table by four points after a five-goal triumph at Bro Cernyw.
Ryan Potts, Jackson Brewerton, Liam Grayson, Callum Roberts and Callum Murphy shared the goals.
CPD Cerrigydrudion 2 Llanfairfechan Town 0
Tirion Griffiths delivered both first-half goals which booked Cerrig the points against Llanfairfechan.
Glan Conwy 0 Penmaenmawr Phoenix 3
Haydn Griffiths, Stevie Jones and an own goal clinched the honours for Pen at Cae Ffwt.
Llandyrnog United 2 Prestatyn Sports 4

Ian Griffiths was on the mark twice for Sports in a hard-fought win at Cae Nant.
Veteran striker Griffiths made it 1-0 with an 18th minute penalty before Gethin Jones levelled on the half-hour.
Tom Wickerson edged the visitors in front on 34 minutes and right on half time things got worse for Dyrny when Ryan Hurst was shown a second yellow.
Griffiths made it 3-1 on 70 minutes with his 16th goal of the season, then Lee Beattie added a fourth before a super effort from new Llandyrnog captain David Lawson-Cooke cut the deficit after 85.
Meliden 3 CPD Llansannan 1
Due to heavy cup commitments and endless postponements, Meliden are unbeaten in the league since the end of August, but their run of matches without a loss stands at just six.
Deej Hobson’s men won well on Saturday, Joe Roberts, Finley Ellam and Matty Griffiths putting the hosts three-up at half time.
Leon Gierke replied for Llansannan just past the hour, but that was the end of the scoring.
Mochdre Sports 1 CPD Llannefydd 0

A first half Harvey Holmes header was enough to take all three points in a tight encounter with CPD Llannefydd.
The opening 45 was an even contest with chances for both sides but the clinical moment was when Holmes nodded home from a Logan Williams cross.
The second half saw a resilient performance from the hosts with Llannefydd dominating large periods but creating only a few clear cut chances and some committed defending ensured Sports kept a clean sheet and earned 3 points, also making it seven undefeated in the league.
Rhuddlan Town 5 Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 0
A first game for Rhuddlan since November saw them complete a fourth straight league victory which keeps them fourth in the Premier table.
Andrew Merner (2), Dave Sharkey, Jack Edwards and an own goal secured an emphatic win.
