Connah’s Quay Nomads and Wrexham are the only two North Wales clubs to apply for a Tier 1 Women’s Licence next season.

Wrexham currently top the tier 2 Genero Adran North table with Nomads in second.

The team in first place at the end of the season automatically qualifies for a play-off against the Adran South champions with the prize for the winner a place in the Tier 1 Adran Premier.

If the top side in the north does not apply for promotion, then the second-placed team can enter the play-off to go up a league.

No-one went up from the Adran North last season, neither did anyone contest the play-off. Champions Llandudno did not bid for promotion, nor did runners-up Wrexham.

Connah’s Quay, who finished third, did apply to be promoted but failed to qualify for a play-off spot due to their final position – you must place top two minimum.

Seven northern teams have put their names forward for a tier 2/Genero Adran North licence next season – Airbus UK Broughton, CPDM Bangor 1876, CPDM Y Felinheli, Llandudno, Llanfair United (mid-Wales), NFA and CPD Y Rhyl 1879.

Of the seven, two of those sides – Bangor 1876 and NFA – are currently in the tier 3 North Wales Women’s League.

Bangor are presently unbeaten and well clear at the top, so appear the best bet for promotion.

NFA are second, 12 points behind 1876 but with two games in hand – so still close enough if good enough.
