Leaders Colwyn Bay made it 13 league games without defeat and moved three points clear at the summit with Saturday’s win at Clappers Lane.
Gresford started well, Charlie Mann having a good free-kick saved by Cameron Darling in the ninth minute.
Bay responded a minute later when Craig Lindfield hit the woodwork.
Mann had another fine effort stopped in the 34th minute, when he attempted to loop his shot over Darling.
George Macready and Chris Hibbert were both called upon in the latter stages of the half to block Bay attempts. It remained 0-0 up to the interval, but the Seagulls had applied heavy pressure on the home goal towards the end of the half.
Bay showed their quality in the second half and were given an early penalty when Alex Downes was clipped in the box and Lindfield netted from the spot.
In the 59th minute it was 2-0, Lewis Sirrell heading home from Lindfield’s free-kick.
Good defending from the Colliers denied Bay any further goals, the visitors also having a late net-finder disallowed.
A game of few chances saw both teams cancel each other out and it rightfully finished all-square at Holyhead Road.
Two goals in a minute from Danny Warren made sure The Alex picked up three welcome derby day points in this mid-table clash at Alyn Park.
Bottom side Penrhyncoch ended a run of six straight league defeats with a hard-earned success over Llanidloes.
Despite being reduced to 10 men, two goals from Geoff Kellaway sealed the spoils for the Roosters at Cae Baker.
A third straight league defeat for Port, who were beaten by an injury-time winner from Jake Cook.
Meilir Williams’ 22nd minute goal – a glorious volley over stranded keeper Robbie Williams – gave the hosts a half time lead.
The visitors had threatened often, though, and Iwan Matthews levelled on 66 as he took advantage of hesitancy in the home defence.
Cook landed the decider in the 93rd minute – and it must be said it was deserved.
A seven-goal thriller at Bastion Gardens saw Prestatyn deservedly come out on top.
Dixie Davies’ lovely finish handed Town an early lead, but Conor Davies soon equalised.
Dan Atkins made it 2-1 to the hosts in just the 11th minute, however John Littlemore again restored parity for Boro from the penalty spot.
It was end-to-end stuff and Atkins struck again for the Seasiders to put them in front for a third time.
Tom Hilditch missed two opportunities, but would not be denied a third time as he made it 4-2 at the interval.
Things calmed down on the goals front in the second half, but man of the match Dixie Davies came up with a second to secure the points for Chris Jones’ men, who are up to fifth in the standings.
