Jacob Walker delivered the winning goal as Denbigh moved up to fourth and scuppered Rhyl 1879’s hopes of ending the evening top of the table.
It all started rosily for Rhyl as Jack Higgins handed them a third-minute lead.
Town responded well, but initially found the away defence in solid form, keeper Luke Wilmot producing a great stop to deny Walker, put through by a slick back-heel from Paul Fleming.
Nathan Brown was inches away with a free kick and it was no surprise when Dewi Llion Jones’ home side levelled on 27 minutes.
Ben Lockley played a ball along the edge of the box and Fleming stepped back, allowing Brown to curl an unstoppable shot into the far right corner.
Wilmot pulled off good stops to thwart Walker and Fleming as the hosts looked to build on that goal.
Fleming rattled the bar and Keiron Roberts and Walker flashed cracking strikes just off target as Denbigh finished the half well on top.
Town continued to dazzle after the restart and took the lead on 54 minutes, Harry Lockley’s cross headed in by the ever-deadly Walker.
Midway through the half Rhyl almost equalised, a wicked deflection sending Aaron Jones back-pedalling to tip over the crossbar.
The impressive Wilmot concocted a stunning save to foil Walker, then Brown went close again with a fierce attempt.
Jason Foulkes lashed into the side-netting before Wilmot again came to the rescue to finger-tip away a Brown missile.
