NORTH WALES COAST WOMEN’S LEAGUE – OCTOBER 25

Caernarfon Town 4 (Young 15, M Williams 29, 37, 64)
Kinmel Bay 1 (Perry 4)

Report: Kinmel Bay

Kinmel Bay Ladies travelled to face Caernarfon Ladies in what proved an entertaining and competitive encounter.in extremely windy conditions, with the hosts eventually securing a 4–1 victory despite a determined performance from the visitors.
Bay couldn’t have asked for a better start, coming out of the blocks brightly and taking the lead in just the 4th minute.
Skipper Seren Williams made a fantastic run down the wing before whipping a dangerous ball across the face of goal, where Lucy Perry was perfectly positioned to tap home and give Bay an early 1–0 advantage.
However, Caernarfon responded quickly. A well-delivered corner from Lois Young curled straight into the back of the net, bringing the hosts level.
With momentum now on their side, Caernarfon continued to press forward, putting the Kinmel Bay defence under sustained pressure.
In the 29th minute, some excellent link-up play saw Catrin Thomas send a perfectly weighted pass to Megan Williams, who finished neatly and put Caernarfon 2–1 ahead.
The hosts weren’t finished there. Maddison Connor played the ball into Megan Williams, whose initial effort was well saved by keeper Steph Farley. Unfortunately for Bay, the ball deflected off a defender and rebounded into the net, giving Caernarfon their third of the afternoon.
HALF-TIME: CAERNARFON LADIES 3–1 KINMEL BAY LADIES
Despite the scoreline, Kinmel Bay came out for the second half with renewed determination, showing real character and a desire to get themselves back into the game.
Bay enjoyed some excellent spells of attacking football, creating numerous opportunities and testing the Caernarfon defence. However, home goalkeeper Heledd Evans was in outstanding form, producing a number of important saves to deny Bay a route back into the contest.
As Kinmel continued to push players forward in search of a goal, Caernarfon capitalised on the space left behind.
A long ball forward from Caernarfon captain Sioned Bohana found Megan Williams, who raced through on goal and calmly finished to complete her hat-trick and seal the 4–1 victory for the hosts.
The 17-year-old Williams has scored 19 goals in 12 games since breaking into the first team last season and this term she has netted nine.
To their credit, the visitors continued to battle until the final whistle, refusing to let their heads drop and showing plenty of determination
