Amy Chesters continued her magnificent season with a double strike to reach 20 goals for the season and secure three hard-earned points for Kinmel Bay at Treborth.
The match started with both teams looking to assert dominance. Chances fell at both ends in the first half.
Kinmel Bay settled into their rhythm and found the breakthrough in the 31st minute. A well-worked attacking move from Elin Jones saw Chesters in the right place at the right time to slot home past the Caernarfon goalkeeper, giving the visitors a deserved lead.
Caernarfon responded with determination and in the 71st minute were rewarded with a great goal from Elan Evans, who capitalised on a pinpoint pass from Llinos Hughes to level the score at 1-1.
The hosts continued the momentum, applying pressure on the Kinmel Bay defence, but the visitors stood strong.
As the match progressed, Kinmel Bay regained control and pushed forward in search of a winner. Their persistence paid off in the 78th minute when a fine pass from Lucy Perry found the feet of Chesters, who struck again finishing clinically to restore the lead and complete her brace.
Despite late pressure from Caernarfon, Bay remained solid at the back, securing an important away win which edged Naomii Oakley’s side out of the bottom two.
