Ardal North West – leaders Nantlle Vale beaten at home, Llangefni stand-in keeper has a blinder in draw at Denbigh

ARDAL NORTH WEST REPORTS – OCTOBER 22
Denbigh Town 2 Llangefni Town 2
Stand-in goalkeeper Cameron Jones was needed after just five minutes of Saturday’s clash and produced a fantastic display to help his Llangefni side get a deserved point at Central Park.
Midfielder Jones replaced injured regular stopper Steve Sinclair in the early stages and went on to perform superbly between the sticks.
Sinclair came a cropper after a clash with Jake Walker and was stretchered off after a long delay, the inexperienced Jones taking the gloves.

Denbigh started well, Nathan Brown unleashing a stunning strike from 25 yards which clipped the top of the crossbar.
Then came the Sinclair injury which threatened to spell trouble for next-to-bottom Cefni.
However, on 20 minutes, Jones pulled off a one-handed diving save low to his left which the great Neville Southall would have been proud of.
Llangefni were having their attacking moments too, captain Gari Owen, Josh Stanley Williams and Cai Powell-Roberts all with chances.
Jones performed marvels again to deny Keiron Roberts in added time, the first half ending at 0-0.

Three minutes into the second half and Llangefni were ahead, Dewi Thomas reacting quickest to a defensive mistake to rifle home.
In the 54th minute, the home side were level, Sam Haddon grabbing his first league goal of the season with a vicious strike from the edge of the box.
With 59 minutes on the clock, a corner for the home side was swung in by Brown and met with a thumping header from Ben Lockley, giving the keeper no chance,
Cefni could consider themselves unlucky to be behind, and on 75 minutes got their just desserts, making it 2-2 courtesy of Matty Jones.
Bodedern Athletic 1 Flint Mountain 4
Despite ending up with nine men, Mountain came back from Anglesey impressive 4-1 victors.
The visitors took the lead after only three minutes, Sam Molyneux netting with a bullet header from Ieuan Hewitt’s free kick.
Molyneux hit the post before supplying the through pass for Ben Brierly to beat a defender and fire in number two in the 33rd minute.
On 55 minutes Mountain went three-up. Good play between Calyn Spencer and Molyneux enabled Andy Brown to lash into the top corner.
The away side were soon down to nine after Rowan Brooks was dismissed for a second yellow card and Spencer saw red.
Undeterred, Brierly made it 4-0 before Shaun Jenkins bagged a late consolation for the hosts.
Brickfield Rangers 3 Hawarden Rangers 2
Gerson Silva Neto struck in the 91st minute to clinch Brickfield a thrilling win at Clywedog Park.
Tom Gunson handed Hawarden a sixth-minute lead before substitute Jay Richardson levelled just a minute after replacing Mike Derosa.
Nonetheless, Hawarden were in front at the break after Luke Fenny-Williams made it 2-1.
Henry Lunn equalised on 56 minutes and Issac Dawson missed a penalty for the hosts before Neto won it late.
CPD Y Felinheli 1 Llanrwst United 2
First half goals from Leon Doran and Chris Nicolson delivered Llanrwst what turned out to be a winning 2-0 lead.
Osian Pritchard halved the deficit on 76, but it was not enough to save Felinheli from defeat.
Llay Welfare 3 Llandudno Albion 2
In this fixture last season, Dave Maddock scored for Albion in a 2-0 win to reach 100 goals for the club.
Six months later, Maddock’s return to The Ring was not so enjoyable as he was sent off in a 3-2 defeat.
Joe Carey put Albion in front in the 28th minute, but Jared Taylor made it one-apiece in first half added time.
Two goals in three minutes from Rhys Lloyd soon after the restart had the Welfare in command at 3-1 up.
In the 70th minute a player from each side was red-carded – Josh Phillips for Llay and Albion’s record marksman Maddock.
Adam Hold did bag a second for the visitors in the 86th minute, but the Wrexham-area hosts held on for the points.
Nantlle Vale 0 Saltney Town 1
Saltney had been somewhat unfortunate losers in their previous two games against high-flyers Rhyl 1879 and Bangor 1876, but on Saturday it all came right for the Bordermen as they triumphed 1-0 at leaders Nantlle Vale.
Sam Henry grabbed the only goal of the match in the 81st minute.
Jamie Thomas had earlier been red-carded for Vale.
CPD Y Rhyl 1879 1 Bangor 1876 2
This highly controversial match has already been reported on in great depth by Grassroots North Wales.
Rhyl 1879 suffered their first-ever league defeat after a 31-game unbeaten run despite taking a 20th minute lead through Alex Jones, who converted a rebound after Huw Shaw saved his initial penalty.
Liam Morris equalised before half time and Corrig McGonigle headed the winner in the 78th minute.
The first-ever competitive match between the two newly-formed fan-owned clubs was marred by seven red cards being shown.
In the second half, 1879 manager Gareth Thomas was ordered to leave the dugout for alleged dissent, while the hosts also had Miles Todd, Alex Jones, Jack Higgins and Aron White dismissed.
Tomos Clarke and Corey Jones were sent off for Bangor.
The Football Association of Wales is investigating unrest involving players and management after the final whistle.
