How did the FAW Women’s Cup second round draw work out for northern clubs?

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 will be determined to avoid a repeat of their last result against Llandudno when they travel to the OPS Wind Arena in the Welsh Cup second round later this month.
The coastal rivals met on the opening day of the tier 2 Adran North season, but it was a nightmare baptism for promoted Rhyl, who were thrashed 8-0 by the reigning champions.
1879 goalkeeper Loz Jones was outstanding that day, but the whole team will need to be in top form to stop Llandudno progressing. To be fair, Rhyl did have key players missing on that occasion and will hope to be stronger for the return clash on October 30.
Since that eight-goal defeat, Rhyl have beaten Llangefni 12-0 in the Adran Trophy and worked hard to earn a 1-0 triumph over fellow town team NFA in the Welsh Cup on Sunday.
Llandudno have been firing on all cylinders and will be giving it everything to reach the quarter-finals.
Elsewhere, Connah’s Quay Nomads and Wrexham have landed Adran Premier opponents in Aberystwyth Town and TNS respectively. Tough tests, but far from impossible.
