Bangor’s Nantporth and Racecourse, Wrexham to host Wales internationals
International football will return to North Wales later this month when the 2022/23 UEFA #U19EURO Qualifying Round Group 4 tournament is hosted in the region.
Cymru will begin the campaign in Nantporth, Bangor on Wednesday 21 September when they face Hungary (4 pm ko).
On the following Saturday (24 September), Cymru will return to Nantporth where they take on the Republic of Ireland in a 1 pm kick-off.
The tournament will then finish at the oldest international football stadium in the world, the Racecourse in Wrexham, where Rob Edwards’ side come up against Gibraltar on Tuesday 27 September (6 pm).
The full fixture schedule for the tournament is listed below, with Cymru matches live streamed on the FAW Facebook and YouTube channels. Ticket information will be released in due course.
Community interest company Nantporth CiC, set up to protect the future of the Bangor stadium, said: “As Nantporth CIC continue to enhance the Bangor stadium it is delighted to announce the return of Wales to the stadium with three U19 matches confirmed with two involving Wales.
“Volunteers have been putting in significant effort to be able to host these prestigious games.
“We are certain that these games will bring a strong support from the public.”
