A convincing performance from last season’s third-place finishers against a team relegated from tier 3 Ardal North West.
Sports came out of the traps quickly and broke the deadlock on 14 minutes when a great through ball from Ian Griffiths was latched onto by Tom Wickerson, who lofted the keeper with a super finish.
Three minutes later a cleverly-worked corner fell to Sam Brewerton around 15 yards out and he rifled home a half volley.
Before the break Griffiths shot straight through the keeper to open his account for the season.
Understandably, with a comfortable lead and in hot conditions, Sports started the second half with less impetus but still kept the ball very well and carved out some excellent chances.
The scoring was completed on 82 minutes when Adam Wright added to his debut goal in the cup last weekend with a first league net-finder for the club finishing smartly to the keeper’s left.

Bro Cernyw 1 Llandudno Junction 4

Liam Barlow, Dean Roberts, Tomos Williams and Dion Jones were the Junction scorers in Saturday’s win, Gethin Vaughan with a late reply for Bro from the penalty spot.

Kinmel Bay 1 Cerrigydrudion 2

Tomos Tryfan Jones notched a double, including a penalty, as promoted Cerrig began their Premier Division experience with a victory.
Mason Richards had equalised for Kinmel Bay in the second half.

Llannefydd 2 Meliden 1

Rhys Llwyd and Tudur Jones put last season’s Premier runners-up two goals to the good before Joe Roberts hit back for Meliden in the 78th minute.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix 2 Llansannan 3

A double from veteran player-manager Leon Gierke, including a 77th minute deciding penalty, helped secure the visitors an impressive win at Cae Sling.
Dafydd Jones also found the mark for Sannan, Peter Jones putting away both for Phoenix.

Rhuddlan Town 4 Llandyrnog United 3

Jordan Bellham (2), Ethan Taylor and Harvey Bennett shared the goals which earned Rhuddlan a thrilling win in a seven-goal cracker, David Lawson-Cooke (2) and Joel Rowlands running Llandyrnog close.

St Asaph City 5 Llanfairfechan Town 1

James Williams bagged a hat-trick for Saints with Ryan Potts on target twice.
Llanfair’s consolation came via a Tyler Joyce own goal.
