Matt Russell made a first team best score of 62 not out as Colwyn Bay romped to victory at The Oval in the Welsh Cup North Zone 2 final.
Sunday’s derby saw Llandudno win the toss and elect to bat, but they could only produce a modest 134-9 off their 40 overs.
Opener Sam Rimmington top-scored with 45 off just 30 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes, while Jamie Grimshaw added 30 and Elliott Hughes 23 not out.
Nineteen-year-old Matt Russell, who had a pretty good day, recorded the best bowling figures of 2-17, Shaun Davies nabbed 2-19 and Ryan Holtby 2-38.
Sion Morris came up with a really accurate spell, taking 1-16 off eight.
In reply, the Bay slumped to 34-3, danger man Will Evans making 23 before being caught off Tom Thornton, while Grimshaw struck two early blows.
Matt Russell and Arthur Jones (25) then put on 62 to guide the visitors to 96-4.
No further wickets fell, Russell’s unbeaten 62 coming off just 48 deliveries and including nine fours and three sixes, with Bay reaching 136-4 in just 20.2 overs, Grimshaw 2-27.
