Amlwch Town had a great 2021-22 season and Joanna Bramwell was one of those players who really came to the fore.
She helped the newly-built team finish fourth in the North Wales Women’s League and scored four goals, including one in Amlwch’s impressive performance in a 5-2 defeat at NFA, where the Anglesey side only had 10 players available.
Jo scored with a header from a corner and her performance from start to finish was unstinting, her fitness really shining through on a hot day and against the league runners-up.
She plays the game with tremendous enthusiasm and a smile on her face, typified by her signature photo from last season where she and team-mate Shannon Thomas celebrated a goal rather wildly!
Grassroots North Wales thanks Jo for her time in participating in a Female Focus feature and wishes her all the best for 2022-23.

I remember always playing on the playground at break times at school and going to the after school club. I joined my first team Deal Town Rangers when I was 8 and played with them until I left for uni.
16 years.
CDM for sure
All started with Deal Town Rangers, then 4 years with Bangor University including representing the Welsh Universities squad and now Amlwch Town.
One of my great grandfathers did play for Man United during the war apparently
We only train once a week but when I’m not training you’ll find me in the gym
If I’m not in the gym I’m up a mountain or going for a walk somewhere. I also love cooking and eating.
Alex Scott. I admire how hard she’s worked to make it as a reputable sports commentator

It was great to play my first proper season with the ladies and I think we did brilliantly considering we were struggling for a team beginning of the season!
We had a few disappointing games but the girls really dug deep when it mattered and it’s great to play alongside some big personalities which I think makes us stand out as a team.
I think if we can battle as hard as we did this season and make every game count we stand a good chance of being top 3 next season.
Definitely my last game for Bangor Uni. Varsity match against Aberystwyth.
All the girls were buzzing on the bus down and the atmosphere among the team was fantastic. We ran rings round Aber and I couldn’t even tell you what the score was but I got two of the best goals I’ve ever scored in my career. And my memory of the bus journey back is even worse.
Definitely representing the Welsh Universities team twice.
Mari Gibbard. Class player on and off the pitch. 🌟🌟

Bit of everything tbh. Depends what mood I’m in
The Office (American version)
I think England will disappoint but Wales could be ones to watch.
I’d love to be a weather woman😂 ☀️
I want to travel the world as much as possible (although the girls might not let me have a season off)
