Young talent Archie Sussex made his fourth half-century of the season as Denbigh extended their run to 11 straight wins at the expense of Connah’s Quay.

Put into bat at Ystrad Road, the hosts racked up 241-9 off 45 overs, the 17-year-old Sussex leading the way with 62. Stuart Griffiths added 37 and Darren Nixon 31.
Lee Davies scooped 3-53 and Mali Auty 2-33 for the Deesiders.

Quay were then bowled out for 136, having been 48-7, Auty making 31 not out down the order.

Ifan Jones returned figures of 3-15 for the home side, Josh Jones 3-37 and Alec Lewis 2-13 from nine.

Abergele (11) 174-8 Llanrwst (4) 173-10

Abergele got home by two wickets in a great contest at Pentre Mawr Park.

Visitors Llanrwst were put in and found themselves in dire straits at 84-8, but an heroic ninth-wicket partnership of 83 between Alwyn Williams (53) and Lee Thomas (31) gave the total much more respectability.

The Rwsters were all out for 173, with Williams’ half-ton just the fourth of his long club career.

David Moulson grabbed 4-26 and Ben Garnett 3-35 for Gele, Lewis Tolond bagging 2-40.

Abergele reached 174-8 in reply with 11 balls to spare, Sam Painter posting 48 and Sean Reilly 42.

Alwyn Williams notched 3-26 and Iwan Edwards 3-33 for the Conwy Valley men.

Dolgellau (4) 146-10 Marchwiel and Wrexham (11) 147-9

Last-wicket pair Gareth Evans and Sion Edwards scrambled Marchwiel and Wrexham over the line at The Marian.

Dolgellau opted to bat and were all out for 146, Jaco Oosthuizen best with 42, opener Jack Williamson 32.

Scott Lawrenson snared 4-30 for the visitors, Sion Edwards 2-19 and Anthony Morris 2-20.

In reply, the away side were a comfortable 62-1 at one stage, but were 144-9 before Evans and Edwards saw them edge home.

Skipper George Forgrave struck 47 and Michael Forgrave 28, Morgan Yorke notching 4-19 and Oosthuizen 2-16 for Dol.

Gwersyllt Park (13) 167-5 Buckley (2) 196-8

In an overs-reduced game due to rain, Gwersyllt Park reached their revised target of 165 from 32 with five balls to spare.

Inserted by the opposition, Buckley set a challenging 196-8, Jack Williams 63 not out, William Norman 46 and Adam Shaw 25 no.

Daniel Jones stood out for the Park with 4-18 from nine overs.

Skipper Iroshan De Silva then took centre stage with an unbeaten 93 as Gwersyllt made it to 167-5, Shaw 4-49.

Halkyn (11) 152-10 Conwy (4) 140-8

A thriller at Pant Newydd saw Halkyn win by a single run after Conwy narrowly failed to reach their revised target of 142 off 35 overs.

In a rain-interrupted clash, the hosts were all out for 152, Muhammad Bajwa with 35, Tom Plank pocketing 4-27 and Guto Davies 2-34 for the away side.

Conwy’s response ended on 140-8, Evan Williams’ 50 proving the highest score of the match, while for the hosts, Jamie Griffiths claimed 2-33 and Andrew Watkin 2-38.

Hawarden Park (15) 236-5 Bangor 2nd XI (0) 61-10

The home side piled up a formidable winning score of 236-5 off 45 overs at Moor Lane.

Skipper Ian Martin made 54, Karl Higgins 50 and Chris Geary 48 after the Park chose to bat, Bethan Hughes taking a brilliant 3-30 off nine for a Bangor attack which otherwise came in for some real hammer.

The visitors were then sent packing for just 61, Michael Wootton 3-5, James Martin 3-14 and Ian Martin 2-15 for the maximum points winners.
