Caernarfon Town girls land prestigious NWCFA Under-16 Cup

Caernarfon Town were celebrating after winning the NWCFA Under-16 Girls Cup Final last night.
Taking on derby rivals Bangor 1876 at Lon Groes, Gaerwen, the Cofis won 4-0 with Yasmin Wilcox scoring a hat-trick after leading scorer Jess Jones had put Town in front with a penalty.
Jess Jones’ 18th minute spot kick was her 52nd goal in all competitions this season, and she is top U-16 markswoman in the league (34) and Welsh Cup (11).
Yasmin Wilcox’s goals came on 31, 40+2 and 54 minutes.

Bangor 1876 Under-16’s gave it everything, creating a number of chances during the game but unable to find the net.
The big difference on the night was the finishing.
The Canaries have a chance to stay on course for a double on Saturday when they face Penrhyn Bay in a North Wales Girls Under-16 League Cup semi-final at Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen, Caernarfon.
Town finished second in the league to Penrhyn Bay and also reached the Welsh Cup semi-finals, where they went down 3-1 to eventual competition winners Cardiff City.
Since that loss to Cardiff on February 13, Caernarfon have won eight matches in a row, scoring 71 goals in the process.
