What a week for goals – these girls are on fire!

What a week it’s been for goals….
An amazing 74 netted in eight games at the weekend, then another 14 from Llandudno last night.
It had been a couple of quiet weeks on the Goalden Girl chart, but now things are rocketing!
Star of the week has to be Llandudno’s Maddie Williams, who has scored nine in two matches and is now second in the overall table on 24.
True, a lot of the women’s goals are coming at the expense of struggling teams, but these players still have to be in the right positions to put the ball into the net, need to find the right finish and cope with determined defenders.
It is a pity to see such heavy defeats, though. We really hope those teams having a tough time can grow stronger until they are the ones giving out the thrashings!
Good to see big names like Katie Bowe and Cerys Gadd enter the chart this week and how about the midfielder Stacey Tradewell, two hat-tricks in three days for Llandudno taking her up to 14 goals in total – a career best in a single season.
There is also plenty of movement from Amlwch this week, with four goals from teen striker Tesni Hughes and a popular first hat-trick for smiling Shannon Thomas.
Of course still at the top, with 36 goals in 17 appearances and 26 in the Genero Adran League alone, is the remarkable Rosie Hughes. Seven hat-tricks in total and five in the league. She’s a sensation!
