Mold Alexandra manager Michael Cunningham insists his team will approach their FAW Trophy semi-final against tier 5 Rockspur later this month with great confidence.
The competition surprise packages from Swansea Senior League Division One knocked out holders Cefn Albion 3-0 in Saturday’s last eight clash at Pryderi Park Stadium.
Mold were the only North Wales winners in the quarters, edging a hard-earned 1-0 verdict at Pontyclun.
Alex are now the sole flag bearers for the north in the semis, the other tie being between Baglan Dragons, conquerors of Bodedern Athletic, and Ynyshir Albions.
Tier 3 Ardal North West leaders Mold will take on Rockspur at a neutral venue to be confirmed on March 19.
Manager Cunningham said: “A tough draw but you expect that at this stage of the competition.
“We go into the game full of confidence and just focusing on what we can do and what our strengths are.
“All at the club are really looking forward to the tie and it should be a great semi-final.”
Mold has produced an FAW Trophy winner once – a team called Mold Red Stars back in 1893-94, when the competition was known as the Welsh Junior Cup.
