Alfie Vaughan struck at the double for a Nomads side which rose up to third in FAW Reserve League North East.

On an afternoon where Quay’s first team crashed out of the Welsh Cup at home to lower league Colwyn Bay, the reserves brought some much needed cheer to the Deeside club.

Mold led 1-0 at the break, Luke Muia with the opening goal after 34 minutes.

The equaliser arrived courtesy of Vaughan in the 63rd minute, but back came Alex to make it 2-1 when Ellis Hickey found the net on 68.

Jack Burman levelled on 72 minutes to set up the prospect of an exciting finish.

And it was Nomads who grabbed the honours, Vaughan putting them 3-2 up in the 76th minute before Robbie Jones settled it with a fourth for the hosts soon after.
